dont like tat lah, ppl jz bought speakers and soundcard

Ya, I hv always admired Mr Edifier's open mind from the past thread  I hv gone thru when I was surveying Edifier speaker.....humble & not the hard sell type   but damm, I missed Aego M because I tot it was a 5.1 speaker

i last time use a creative SB 2.1, duno wat model, cheapo
then suddenly own a bookshelve, n the bookshelve much power than S2k
but i still satisfy with AM sound, tat y i will like to take it to compare AB

n tat the reason b4 i asking, since S 2k is a pasive speaker, as u said the decoder come with AMP, i assume the S2K wont sing if without tat amp, wat if pair with better amp, how the potential will go?, tat wat i really like to found out

i try arrange n see how might can do a audition next saturday if i manage to get some free slot

Actually 40W RMS is too much for a small room, let alone 70W RMS.
You are using Esi monitor isnt it? Does it come with 6.5" or 5.5" mid?

Just cool it man. Not really wanna offend you. I get what you mean like I said. You want to test it with a dedicated amp to see if there's any improvement. Just that I feel wasting money if really wanna buy a decent amp cos it would increase the cost by 2-3 fold (IMO only, budget constraint). According to the reviews that I gone through, it seem that the LM3886 was able to produce much higher gain but Edifier specifically limits it to 40W to keep the THD at 5/10000.

Arssoo would be interested to lend you his set I think.

DrJackel, juz curious... what's the difference between HiFi bookshelves with monitoring speakers? Monitoring speakers sound accurate and sterile?
