Ya, I hv always admired Mr Edifier's open mind from the past thread  I hv gone thru when I was surveying Edifier speaker.....humble & not the hard sell type notworthy.gif  but damm, I missed Aego M because I tot it was a 5.1 speaker doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
Aego M is like pro user in low budget speaker. that what i can say. if you wan to test it i better using a same source to test it....But Multimedia always a multimedia cannot compare......

lol
my jumping is something  shocking.gif
i last time use a creative SB 2.1, duno wat model, cheapo
then suddenly own a bookshelve, n the bookshelve much power than S2k tongue.gif
but i still satisfy with AM sound, tat y i will like to take it to compare AB

n tat the reason b4 i asking, since S 2k is a pasive speaker, as u said the decoder come with AMP, i assume the S2K wont sing if without tat amp, wat if pair with better amp, how the potential will go?, tat wat i really like to found out

i try arrange n see how biggrin.gif might can do a audition next saturday if i manage to get some free slot
*
as far as i know is the speaker is rely on the amp.....i more prefer a active speaker instead of pasive speaker....

It came with built-in amp or must buy an amp?
Actually 40W RMS is too much for a small room, let alone 70W RMS.
You are using Esi monitor isnt it? Does it come with 6.5" or 5.5" mid?

Just cool it man. Not really wanna offend you. I get what you mean like I said. You want to test it with a dedicated amp to see if there's any improvement. Just that I feel wasting money if really wanna buy a decent amp cos it would increase the cost by 2-3 fold (IMO only, budget constraint). According to the reviews that I gone through, it seem that the LM3886 was able to produce much higher gain but Edifier specifically limits it to 40W to keep the THD at 5/10000.

Arssoo would be interested to lend you his set I think.

DrJackel, juz curious... what's the difference between HiFi bookshelves with monitoring speakers? Monitoring speakers sound accurate and sterile? huh.gif
*
Monitoring SPK is balance speaker which means u can hear very clear all the instrument, background music or vocal for hifi bookshevles speaker it may not clear in a background music like a very soft piano sound but is not clear... For hifi, is much more to Bass / Treble clarity and it does not cater all the sound balance.

i also dont know, have to ask Uncle Pcworks

This Esi@Juli is a good choice for playback....Even a good production card with a budget price...I'm using it more than 3 years, still good pair with my Esi Near05 Classic Monitoring Speaker. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Have to check with my friend, not sure whether he have it? but i know he got alot of Audiotrak sound card too and planning to loan it from him after finish test the ESI Juli

When the maya44 was launch i was the first market user in malaysia which i get a demo set for test this sound card, what i tested....it been using a two maya44 sound card in the same desktop pc with a two same interface controller, not hang no lack , really a good software and the sound card. Maya 44 suitable to dj user and playback is excellence. In production line is a really budget level but not lose to Emu 0404. latency almost can reach to 0. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
