Can anyone confirm if moomoo has the lowest brokerage charge now? If yes I'll amend the cheapest route on 1st post.
*
Nope. Moomoo price still cannot beat pure IB at USD0.35 tiered pricing. Not to mentioned they don't have access to UK market which means no Ireland Etf.

It's USD1.99 for moomoo Vs USD1.50 for TSG.
TD is 0 (only cost one bear is TT fees + bank rates)
Webull is 0 (only cost one bear is TT fees + bank rates)
First trade is 0 (only cost one bear is TT fees + bank rates)

Yes they accept Malaysian as customer.

I am trying to buy CSPX on Tradestation Global but I am getting the following error message:

"You are trying to submit an order without having market data for this instrument. IB strongly recommends against this kind of blind trading which may result in erroneous or unexpected trades. Restriction is specified in Precautionary Settings of Global Configuration / Presets"

Do I need to subscribe to real time market data to buy this ETF?
*
Don't bother using tradestation global. Just login using IB and buy. IB will pop up same warning. It's sort of like scare tactic cum advertisement to make you pay for real time data. Just click produced without our real time data.

I'm planning to buy swap myr sgd with my friend. The thing is, there's no escrow. It's quite dangerous for me to deal like this.

Any experience among us on swapping currency with friends ?
*
I think Jack12 is providing such service.

Issue is
1. How much you trust your friend? You could have give him RM and he never give you the SGD.
2. Second issue banks will question where is the SGD coming from if you are doing it on regular basis.
3. Third you don't know if the SGD he is giving you clean or not as it could be from human/drug trafficking and using you just to laundry his money.

Something to think about.

Hi guys, a question. When it comes to witholding tax, taking into account an irish domiciled fund with 15% rate, that witholding tax is settled by IBKR in the backend right. We don't actually have to be doing any filing or calculating n paying manually? Are we, as Malaysians, liable for the excess tax (I believe we don't have a tax deal with US hence r liable for 30%?). How about other US domiciled funds and/or stocks for instance?
*
Yes everything taken care by IBKR. Nothing to do on your part. We don't have capital income tax yet. There are talks that capital gain tax may come soon maybe in few years time.

As long as it's Ireland domiciled etf your dividend tax is only 15%.
US domiciled etf and stocks incur a 30% dividend tax. No capital gain as you are not US citizen.

Keep in mind that there is a estate tax on us stocks and etf upon your death. First USD 60k is free of charge.

how much TSG charge to buy ireland etf? $1.5?
*
Yes and no. It's not $1.50. But it's £1.50 or min 0.12% whichever is higher.
https://www.tradestation-international.com/...ng-commissions/

If you use pure interactive broker it's £1.00 or min0.05% whichever is higher

Not worth the 15%
Just take a look at SPY5 vs SPY
10 yr how much SPY5 lag behind SPY?
*
Don't just compare like that. Must compare with dividends reinvested.

I read somewhere because of dividend tax, the Ireland one perform better over long term. Can't find the article anymore.

Anyone with a referral offer code for  tradestation-international?
What is the difference MY bank > Transferwise > IBKR vs MY Bank > Transferwise > Cimb SG > IBKR ?
*
People said TransferWise cannot transfer USD Into IBKR. Only EUR
If you have borderless account you can bank in USD as it's considered local transfer under your own name.
But since TransferWise shut down borderless account for Malaysian unlikely you will have it.
Which means any USD transfer coming from Ibkr is considered third person transfer which means automatically blocked by IBKR.

If you go by CIMB sg route, money will go without any fuss. Not to mentioned conversion inside Ibkr inside Ibkr is spot rate which is cheaper than what TransferWise can offer you.

Not to mention by using TransferWise to transfer money into Ibkr, Ibkr will question you for source if money 6-7 months down the line. Failing to give satisfactory answer or refusal to give Ibkr answer after being contacted x3 will have your account ban.

No such issues if using CIMB sg as the transfer is from the bank under your name.

Hope this helps.

That's odd, I just signed up for Wise and I'm able to transfer USD to IBKR no problem.

Have a question for sifus here (apologies if its common), is the difference between investing in US funds and Irish funds significant for Malaysian? Assuming its index tracking ETFs with minimal dividends anyway.

Wait a few days. It will be returned to you.

Tradestation Support

Can I deposit funds using Transferwise/Revolut or other currency transfer services?
While it is possible to deposit funds by this method, the transfer would need to meet the following conditions:
The funds would need to originate from an account titled the same as the IBKR account;
The deposit payment details would need to include your account ID and title.
Based upon prior experience, Transferwise and similar services generally do not include the required information in the payment details and, if this is the case, the funds will be returned as unidentified.
Did you register a new account with tradestation and use wise to fund the account for the first time? Or have you been using it for a while and funding with other methods before? Maybe this doesnt work on first time funding only.
*
Just use CIMB sg- to deposit in SGD. No problem down the road in the future. Then use Ibkr to convert into USD or GBP.

My accounts with IBKR and Wise are both relatively new. Used Wise for initial and a few more rounds of deposits already. No problem yet.

I think the conditions are satisfied - IBKR when you set a new deposit via Wise will give you your account ID to be input into Wise transfer reference.

Could you show step by step how to transfer with wise? Super newbie here I have only been using stashaway before this.
*
Keep in mind they will ask proof of transfer, proof of funds 6-7 months down the road. Kindly take note. This is p ice to pay by using TransferWise. No such issue if money come from sg banks.

seeing that ibkr has now waived the $10 min account activity fee, is IBKR the preferred choice for the average joe instead of TS Global now?

Thank you.

Or course. I submit my request to delink tsg from IBKR and will be using pure IBKR once my delink request successful.

This reddit post says that its 0.05% or min USD 1.70 for Tiered fee structure. https://www.reddit.com/r/singaporefi/commen...p821/?context=3
*
They already told.you.
QUOTE
The LSE is abit more tricky so I did a bit of digging and found the below for those who might be interested. Tiered – 0.05% commission, min USD 1.70, max USD 39 (under “EUR, CHF, USD, PLN, ILS and HUF-Denominated Products Tiered”) – 0.0045% LSE exchange fee, min GBP 0.10 – GBP 0.06 (~USD 0.08) LSE clearing fee

Fixed – 0.05% commission, min USD 5

This means that Tiered is better for trades below USD 9,028 (commission of USD 5), and trades above USD 85,890 (commission of USD 42.945).

In summary, Go with Tiered if your LSE IWDA trade size is less than USD 9k. Go with Fixed if your LSE IWDA trade size is greater than USD 9k.

The usd0.35 is if you are buying stocks or etf straight from US market.

Use the link I posted above and see for yourself. If one invest in arkk/w Vs sp500 since 2015, the outperformance is huge.
