Sanchez should go to MLS. Arsenal got the better deal out of that swap. Who knows Mkhi might have flourished under Ole. Hindsight..

Our #7 really cursed since Owen wore that number. Trojan horse sent by Pool? Lulz. Since he left, Valencia got that number and turn to shit attacking wise. Even after he change back number to his old one his attacking ability disappeared. Di Maria, Depay.. Now Sanchez. All taik for us. Damn it.

Should’ve retired No.7 since Ronaldo left.

Top 3 No.7

1. Cantona
2. Ronaldo
3. Robson

Bottom 3 Top 7

1. Di Maria
2. Depay
3. Sanchez (worst)

What a game, I had the gut feeling we could pinch it. Was worried when saw Perreira on the team sheet and indeed in the beginning when he looked isolated.

Lukaku also was out of sorts when not in the box. He really belongs to the opposition box, alas we need his big body to defend.

A good show by these two to prove me my doubts wrong.

Am I the only one secretly glad our piano player got subbed out? I knew when he got subbed out we had a chance. I’ve not been more disappointed by a South American player...this includes Veron and Forlan. Maybe he’ll need another 2 months to regain his fitness again. By then he’ll say he needs the benefit of a full preseason again.

lukaku not giving up his 9 without a fight. felt his tireless slow running helped us a lot. rash just back from injury so felt glad lukaku stepped up. 4 goals in 2 games. big headache for ole. rash lukaku lingard masial and wtfloldalot fighting for front 3... any news on matic herrera return date?

We can try a front 3 of Martial - Rashford - Lukaku with both Rash & Lukaku do interchange of positions as & when needed.

All great goals from both teams today.
Though I feel De Gea could have done better for the goals he conceded today.
Boy that Perreira guy is good. Not only because he scored but his movements and play are impressive.
Lukaku is strong and he takes his shots quickly, catching the keeper off guard.
*
Done better how? A bullet shot & well placed frekick.
*
Agree. Both Southampton goals are not his fault and nothing much DDG can do apart from notworthy.gif the quality of the strikes.
James Ward-Prowse is known for his set piece qualities so didn't we do any homework on that? hmm.gif

beckham > robson for sure.
robson was a great captain but his successes in United is nowhere near Beckham's.

POGBA'S PENALTY MISS

“I just said to him there, 'get ready for the next one because you are going to take that one as well.’ I have missed penalties and he is a confident boy, he wants to go and take the next one and you want that character in the boys. Today, he really blasted it and he usually places them, but he will be okay. ”

More "suffering" for the fans then lol.gif

QUOTE
Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on Alexis Sanchez's injury.

The Chilean was hurt at the start of the second half, as the Reds won 3-2 in an entertaining clash, following an awkward collision inside the Saints' penalty area.

Clearly frustrated at having to leave the field, after providing some telling passes in the opening period, he made way for substitute Diogo Dalot.

“We don't know yet,” said Ole. “He got a knock on his knee. It might be his ligaments. We'll do the scan tomorrow.

”Hopefully, it won't be too bad but we won't know until we've done the scans. Of course, we'll have to wait until then.“

Any ligament damage would surely sideline the 30-year-old. Marcus Rashford played the full 90 minutes to prove his fitness ahead of the Paris Saint-Germain tie in the Champions League in midweek.

Paul Pogba is suspended for the match in his homeland, of course, but there could be a hope Anthony Martial is available to take the spot on the left flank.

The Reds trail 2-0 from the first leg at Old Trafford but confidence remains high in the camp.

Sanchez actually did not bad. He made a good few passes. But we need brilliant energy display for 90 min, not flashes only.

Perreira dalot running also more energy than him. Dalot up front is good

Sanchez is taking about 400k per week, i doubt Woodward would continue to keep him on this situation, most likely has to sell him off cheaper and free up the wages for DDG and others.

Don't expect a brilliant move from Woodward

Smalling is not performance getting the new contract, it won't be shocking news if Sanchez getting extension contract

I think making foul near the penalty box should be avoided especially with Big Teams, as United mountain to climb for come back and injury could occur as players getting tired

I think the midfield battle is how to nullify Verati. Such a silky player. Anyhow that does not give us the 2 goals we need so we can only hope for a miracle from Ole in terms of tactics.

We maybe had our hopes a little too high in the first leg.
