Hi guys.. I'm thinking of registering a domain for my blog. and may be hosting it myself (the blog is currently hosted by blogspot). I first have these questions though
1) What's the different between hosting it yourself and by blogspot? is it the speed?
2) I'm quite comfortable with the blogspot user interface. I mean the "add new post via email", the "new post" etc. If I host it myself, is there a similar or maybe better interface included?
3) How about my previous post? can it be transfered to the new host? Or everything will be reset?
I'm sorry for the newbie question. Just gathering all information before I make the leap of faith. Thanx in advance
1. It depends on your target audience. If you target a local audience then a local server suffices. However, be warned that some foreign (namely US) servers can be more reliable than local ones.1) What's the different between hosting it yourself and by blogspot? is it the speed?

2. Yes. Wordpress allows you to blog via email. Set a unique password and email. Write your articles anywhere and send them to the aforementioned mail. The articles will then be posted in the default (preset) category.
3. I'd say everything starts anew with a new blog, dude. Either you grunt it out copying and pasting old posts to a new blog, or wait for some Wordpress plug-in to be developed to bridge between Wordpress and Blogger.
