I've not seen the glossy screen with the LED back light, but I was able to make a comparison between the glossy and matte screen, and I went with the matte one. It all depends on whether you wanna put up with the glare and reflections. To me, I plan to take my baby everywhere, so matte made more sense to me.

Although personally if your computer is just gonna sit on a desk for the next 2 years, I'd go with the glossy screen.

That's right yetieater. The manager of my local mac store went to great lengths explaining to me the pro's and con's of getting a glossy screen, but in the end what did it for me is the fact that I could see a silhouette of myself on a glossy screen. Nothing too serious mind you, but I think that's just one of those things that would get my goat at some point. Also I could see some glare from the store lights and the sun, which annoyed me a bit as well.

But like I said before, if you are working in an environment where light isn't going to be bouncing off your screen, go for the glossy. It's does look slightly nicer, and the whole silhouette thing isn't really that big of a deal.
