Active swimmer here, swim 2k km per session, 4 times a week. Need cool water to swim laps so your body won't get overheat.
Training for Swimon open water events, next 10k km event in PD. My pace is very bad 2m++ every 100m.
I have settled down here in Penang and chose Spice Setia Aquatic as my main play ground, top notch & well maintained facility. Permata Sport Complex is nice too, cheap but too far for me.

QUOTE(chenny99 @ May 13 2019, 11:32 AM) 2m for every 100m is bad? Then should be a good swimming pace? Not exactly 2 minutes...2m15s +- at long distance pace. If can cut by 30s I am very happy already. Still need 2 hours to complete a 5k km swim..

QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ May 13 2019, 02:07 PM) freestyle or breast stroke 2km? (50m x 40 laps not bad) I only swim freestyle.. p/s not so much into open water swimming, have phobia of sea... Must try - it is fun actually... You can overcome the fear - the visibility is zero at places like Port Dickson - really need to know how to sight if you swim free style else you will stray off course. Can't see anything under water. Sighting and drafting are essential in open water swimming..
