For those who have/had kawa er6n or versys 650, what's the service interval from the owner's manual, is it 5000km or 10000km? Also been curious on how much was the cost for road tax for 250cc and the 650cc.

How long does a fresh set of tires can last, if not riding aggresively (since 650cc already had nice torques)

It depends on which brand of eo u use.. Every person will give different interval if u ask around.. If you're used to ur bike, u can probably know when need to service as you will feel some harshness during gear changing.. Then it is the limit.. I have tried -
1) Kawasaki fully, just 3k+ km already need to change.
2) Then one more time (I forgot the brand coz it's my second time service) semi-syn, 1k km I go change already.. Very bad quality oil.
3) Rockoil semi, 5k km still good but I changed it anyway..
4) Now I stick to liqui-molly semi and 5k km service interval (still good also, but I think 5k km is good enough so I change anyway)..

Regarding tires, I just changed my 3rd set -
1st set Metzeller M5 (soft compound) - Rear 8k km, Front 19k km.
2nd set Pirelli Angel ST (hard compound) - Rear 16k km, Front 5k km still got 90+% left (I changed this at 5k km to match my rear tyre)
3rd set Metzeller Roadtec 01 (hard compound) - Just changed rear and front, using now.

I checked other country's er6n owner's manual and it was stated the service interval there is 12000km or yearly whichever comes first, more in line with the modern cars. And yes, the cheaper oil do feel harsh even before the service interval, the one I used long time ago that can go up to 4000km+ on my suzuki 150cc four stroke was silkolene Pro 4, and that's pretty pricey now. But if it can last at least 6 months or 7000-8000km for er6n it would be worth it. How much are those semi synt oils per bottle?

The tyre lifespan is pretty reasonable, better than kapcais.

Yea saw on other post manual written 10k or 12k km, but I doubt anyone following it.. sweat.gif Mainly due to different quality of eo, so it's hard to follow exactly in the manual.. Even their own Kawasaki eo is not meant to last so long (but it's cheap anyway).. sweat.gif Liqui-molly I'm using is rm48/btl, needed 2btl.. BTW, I think should be OK to run it till 7k-8k km, just that I never tried stretch so far yet.. Will try to do someday.. Coz currently I still feel 5k is reasonable enough for me..

er6n only needs 2 botol oil? nice leh modern 2 cylinder bikes. I had a chance to use 400cc inline 4 for two months many years ago, and those old bikes needed 3 bottles.

I think numbers of cylinder plays role there? Coz as I know XJ6 also 3.4L despite slightly smaller cc.. That is one main consideration I put in besides the bike price before I decide to buy my er6.. Haha... Use it mainly for daily commuting replacing my car.. Ended up I'm enjoying my bike more than my car.. Since one year of owning this bike, my car just clocked in at 2k km... Wasted my fully eo.. haha doh.gif

What grade EO you use? I am using 10W-50.
How's the Roadtec01 compared to the other 2? I'm happy with mine.
*
I'm using 15w-50 coz mainly is long distance.. The Roadtec 01 feels noticeable better than the Angel ST in wet condition.. As these few days keep raining, tested it a lot... Actually I changed my rear on Monday, yesterday only go change my front eventho still got 90+%... tongue.gif

me using roadtec01 as well. first rear lasted 18k km...now using 2nd rear....front has around 22k km on it and still running.

just an FYI, metzeller has released the Roadtec 01 SE

not in MY yet... but hopefully it comes in the next 10k km of my bike laugh.gif

18k km only? Told it was supposed to last longer... doh.gif Anyway, this grip is good enough for me atm... Not really an aggressive rider... tongue.gif

18k km is impressive from what I read.

One blogger I followed, reported 11~12k km on his rear Roadtec, similar to his PR4. Another reason I choose it becoz it's cheaper than other brands here, but more expensive in other countries. Either we're getting it at a bargain, or other brands are over-priced.

Pressure wise, I put 32F/36R lately, but before this was 32F/42R. Lower pressure on the rear gave me noticeably more riding confidence, particularly at uneven corners. Some folks I ride with go as low as 28R.

My previous Angel ST lasted around 16k km with around 10% left... I was told Roasted 01 is way durable... Think I've been conned... Haha... But anyway, no regret... Just did a Cameron ride yesterday thru Sungai Koyan and it serve me sell... thumbup.gif I try stick to recommended pressure @ 32f/36r... Tried go higher on rear last time @40 but it makes the tyre become squarish faster...

Eh, Angel ST is not dual compound leh. With that also lasted 16k km? Hopefully Roasted 01 will double that for you. Why you call it Roasted ah?
IMO Angel ST to Roadtec01 is one step up. The competitor for Roadtec01 is the Angel GT or Angel GT II. From an article I just saw, Pirelli owns Metzeler so are considered the same company? Now it feels even better to be running a set of Metzelers... haha

Phone auto correction haha... Ya I was actually asking for roadtec z8, but the seller say better use back Angel ST and save some $$ as Angel ST is slightly cheaper with near same performance... He said either take one step up to roadtec 01, or use back Angel ST... No point wasting money on z8... Still, most recommended is PR5 which is way out of my budget... Haha...

I see, I'd say Z8 and ST are the same level. Maybe jaga wallet a bit, next one use either one of these, whichever is cheaper or available. Next important thing is to make time for more rides.
*
From the place I purchase, ST and 01 price difference - f = rm50, r = rm150 only... Which I think if 01 can get greater mileage, then the price-mileage ratio will be the same.. Not to mention better grip on the 01... So 01 will definitely be my choice...

Please update on any dedicated/new topic ya... Would be very helpful... Those are on my list too... Btw, heard T31 had great mileage too, but after 50% don't feel nice... Don't know how true was that...
