actually macam  not a bad idea also. every 3 years, companies will introduce new tech with better power efficiency and more environment friendly coolant.
lets say yr aircon cost rm850. meaning every year u only pay rm283 for the aircon. after 3 years can sell the aircon at cheap price so meaning yearly aircon cost is even less. then u buy new better aircon and cycle goes back. every 3 years, get brand new aircon with SOR aircon efficiency plus got warranty summore

just a theory. havent factor in the aircon resell price, thus bring down the annual cost down further. and every 3 years get brand new aircon summore latest tech, potential may bring down elec bills.
downside, need to fork out to uninstall and install.
and yeah, some people feel leceh to 'plug n play'

most AC parts/component now come from china ...even for daikin .
most AC s can easily last more then 5 years .

Lenovo/ HP  computers are made in China
Huawei / Xiaomi  is made in china .
most ASUS products made in china

so they have bad quality . as you say ?  different specs ?
