Update on miloiot tm coverage checker:
It seems that tm had migrated from NOVA to GRN for coverage checks, this gives many benefits such as no limit on number of addresses returned, instant results, autocomplete address, and no need to separate address entered into unit, state, road, roadtype etc..

however i still need to reengineer the coverage checker, pls be patient.

I have no idea. Perhaps someone here will know.
Haha, no way.
*
i read the whitepaper further, apparently only the btu is mikrotik.
router will still be isp issued (i mean if btu is mikrotik u can configure however u want i suppose haha)

pppoe is still performed routerside

however it is noted that service uptime is relatively poor compared to fibre, at 99.5%, making it unsuitable for mission critical business applications eg banking

Dino, what is the latest link for the checker?  laugh.gif
*
i have not fixed the coverage checker yet.
However you can still check the coverage from unifi portal after selecting a plan for new signup and entering your details. It does not matter which plan you choose

I mean the coverage will be very limited for following 1-2years.
So 5G phone for this year and next year for malaysia = no use...haha  thumbup.gif
But of courses for like KL or Putrajaya might suitable for 5G network, but i dont think malaysia telco will expand so fast to national...
Until today 4G that can be use in my current state Johor only 30-40% coverage with no more than 10mbps normally...
I am using UmoXXXX, shit coverage...for Johor. (some place 3G 4G got signal no connection or 60% packet loss...)
Even Unifi mobile, also very limited coverage...for Johor.

The hAP AC is a bit underpowered but should suffice for 500Mbps. I’m using one as my 5Ghz AP. My other AP is an old RB2011UAS-2HnD and an Aztech FG7008 for my office. The Aztech is faster.
*
my aztech 7008 sadly still has the random disconnect from 5ghz issue sad.gif
edit: its better now haha

A Turkey brand, the Airties Air 4830. Refer to this link here: https://www.lowyat.net/2019/184183/maxis-fi...ide-mesh-wi-fi/
*
airties is another popular isp mesh cpe. Used by singtel in sg..

Interesting. Didn’t know that. Thanks for the info. Did you know if they are good?

Not sure, but i heard people im sg seem to prefer google wifi or tplink deco/asus lyra and the like...

but the maxis version is higher speced, 4x4ac quantenna instead of 3x3ac broadcom. Hopefully quantenna can deliver aztech 7008 level of speed

https://www.time.com.my/sites/all/themes/ti...ster-Manual.pdf
here you go. time uses the exact same wifi mesh as maxis...

anyone here know what can i do if TM refuse plant tiang at new taman?
because of this i cant apply streamyx or unifi

TM say demand is too low so they are not planning to do it
*
demand too low means they cant be bothered
I had neighbours and even a SMK and SMJK request for unifi and they didnt even bother...

what happened to gobinds pledge to fiberise all schools?

TM only gives static public IP for business users, not home users. We still need to rely on DDNS.
*
this is about public ip, not dynamic or static ip. same for other unifi or streamyx, dynamic ip is allocated. If u can request tm to move your streamyx from private to public ip, i dont see why that wont work for unifi basic.

another reason why you should just go with maxis.
+rm10/mth for public ip regardless is essential
if im going to be NATted might as well use mobile data or share unifi with neighbours :/

anyhow can try complaining undet misrepresentation of service or dispute tnc?

Wow, need to check with TM for this Public IP issue. Thanks again.
*
imo stating they doesnt support cctv does not directly equate to no public ip nor is it legitimate grounds to reject your public ip request

thats why i think if tm keep on insisting on this, it is considered as a misrepresentation of service and possible can aduan mcmc

Hey guys,

I have been on Unifi for many years now and the contract has expired a while ago. Been paying RM179 for 50mbps (upgraded from 30mbps about a year ago) every month. The connection is somewhat stable but occasional issues would pop up.

Went to TM HQ at Taman Desa to sort this out. Was hoping to "downgrade" to 100mbps for RM129, only to be told that because of my condo's infrastructure (copper), it cannot be done. In fact, the CS personnel insisted that the condo building can only handle 30mbps but I told her that I have been receiving more than 30mbps and at times close to 50mbps (probably VDSL2). She refuses to believe me. So I was given the choice of either downgrading to a horrible deal of 30mbps for RM79 (she failed to mention about the 60gb cap) or continue to pay RM179 forever like a fool.

Is there no other way out of this but to change to another ISP? Any advice about this issue? I know I'm not the only one with this problem.
*
maxis allows 100mbps over vdsl if your attainable rate permits it (although in real life max 80-90mbps). you can submit a special request to maxis as i heard they did it b4

but time is better anyway. safest too
