ya ...initially thinking to terminate and reapply new line ..but TM point told transaction period will need 1month ...so 1 month May not have Internet Access ...
give up ..so just do the downgrade..

I think tm point is misleading you. Back in Jan 2019 I went TM point to apply a new line under the same name, then once installed, go terminate without penalty. Now the overpaid portion for the older line also refunded.

You can try to argue there, sure TM point will give in. BTW I didn't even have to argue my case.

For the Unifi Lite, anyone knows when the quota will set in? Supposed to be Feb 15th but it seems my speed is quite fast despite quota should be finished by now.

Sorry if this question has been answered too many times.

I am very frustrated with the free unifi router (netis orange colour one), keeps disconnecting (or reboot) for don't know what reasons everyday (2 - 5 times average per day).

My budget is from 500 to 1k (max). What's the best value router to recommend? Currently I am on 30Mbps, but might upgrade to 100 or even more (if unifi has it) since TM is supposed to call me on the upgrade options. I like to have something that will be future proof and stable. Too much internet issues ever since I change my plan to the Unifi Basic...

Anyone got good recommendation?

Thank you.

Are you on VDSL or Unifi? If Unifi, get the TP-Link AC2300. If you are on VDSL, get the Asus DSL-AC52U.

Thank you for your recommendation. Currently I am on VDSL copper, but may change to Fiber. Waiting for TM to give me an answer on the upgrade options...

Can I check if Asus 68 is better than AC2300?

i've talked to 6 different cs people today and all of them have said varying stories regarding my case.
i was very adamant to get a verbal termination confirmation from the TMPoint lady the day i "terminated" last week; she said "yes, this account is confirmed terminated" (the day was 16th April).
come to find out today (24th April), they have only just started to terminate when i called them at around 4pm.
so i really don't know who to believe. its extremely frustrating how TM employees have no real answer and are saying varying things.

but the account balance was consistently reported back being RM0, so i hope it stays that way up until the actual completion of the termination.
will head over to TMPoint tomorrow and update everyone in this thread!

Don't worry, if you terminate at TMpoint, it will be effective on that day. They will send you a final bill to your registered email address. Refund will be via cheque and there's a min amount to be refunded like above 20 or 30 ringgit.

i mean, that was exactly what the desk lady told me on that day.
but the fact that i got a paper bill for the account yesterday sent to my house and that i could see the line being active on my unifi care app contradicts that statement  sad.gif

Once you terminate at TMpoint, for my case, you will no longer see your account at the portal. The paper statement is due to time lag... eg, I terminated my auto pay on 23rd April. Thought it was done. But got sms on 24th saying paid on 23rd. It takes time for such things to process.

But as long as you no longer see your account on portal, means terminated. Just wait. But if you can still see your account active, then I think you can call TM. Not sure about you, but the Tmpoint at my area always full and need to wait ages...

time lag is one thing, but to receive the paper bill a full week after I went in to the tmpoint to terminate is another!
did you receive the final bill at the end of the month even when you couldn't see your account in the portal? if so, how much was the final bill?
heading over to the original TMPoint right now to get everything cleared up.
*
Yes I received my final bill at the next billing cycle with the pro rated amount I owe. Since I use autopay, TM needs to refund me. Normally another month for that. Then another final bill that shows 0 amount. BTW I don't get physical copy, just email copy.

Do you think TM Staff at any TM Point knows about this 30Mbps unlimited package?

Anyone here in Johor Bahru successfully done this (VDSL high rise building) ?
*
The one at Taman Sentosa will pretend not to know (last check April 23rd 2019). If you are still under contract, forget it. I believe the best way for you to get this unlimited package at 89 ringgit is to submit online a termination notice and wait for them to call you to counter offer. Do get Maxis people just in case you need to change to Maxis.

Again, if you are still under contract, I think they will offer you the 139 or 119 package.

Just get their CAT6 with the round cable, should be good enough for today needs.

FYI, their so-called CAT6 cannot support 10G Ethernet due to poor shielding. CAT7 is just pure BS.

Hi there, I am currently using Ugreen cat 7 cable and planning to order more today. Are you saying it is actually fake? Cat 6 sold as cat 7? If so I might as well buy cat 6 which is cheaper.

On another topic, I am currently using Cat 7 from modem to router, over 20 meters. From router to ps4 Pro and laptop is either Cat 5e or Cat 6. I am on 100Mbps Unifi and my laptop speed test ping is around 7 to 9 (8 most of the time) and speed up to 100 to 110+ Mbps. However when I do a speed test on ps4 Pro, it goes up to 300Mbps plus despite I am only on 100Mbps.

So my question is, is my wired connection only capable to go up 300 plus or is it Sony Ps4 Pro tests only up to 300 plus?

Everyday you wait is one less day free =p

Then again, it's not actually a LOT of money la. RM400+ only depending which plan you're on. Not worth it if you terminate your contract early next time.

Reverse way of thinking, save this RM400+ can upgrade your router to a proper mid-range Asus =p

A couple of things to add from my chat with live agents.

For those who's under contract (just subscribed this year) can also enjoy this promotion. Just that the contract will be renewed for 24 months with no penalty based on the activation date. Modem continues to be free, however router warranty still one year from the date of first registration, not the renewed activation date.

For my case, my bill cycle starts at 22nd every month, meaning 22nd Sep I already paid for 23rd Sep to 22nd Oct bill. According to the agent and the faq online, suppose the new activation date is 22nd Oct, the free period starts from 22nd Oct despite the fact I applied on 2nd Oct. If the new activation date is 10th Oct, the free period starts from 10th Oct. According to the agent, the 11th Oct to 22nd Oct period I already paid will be brought forward to the Jan 2020 bill cycle as rebate (don't know if it is true, to be verified). Anyway even from 22nd Oct, 2 months free better than nothing.

Please be careful about the plan you are submitting. The discounts etc are based on the plan you are submitting. If you follow the TnC pdf like some bros here pointed out, you submit the wrong plan and you will be paying for that price plan you submitted.

Hmm, I think this TM seriously should do something about its promotion. So many hiccups...

For my case, the billing date is on every 22nd. I applied for YEP on the 2nd Oct and got it I think is the first batch on the 8th Oct. But just now I logged into the portal and I see my service activation date is 20th Oct and not 8th Oct. Under Activities I got one Order processing on 7th Oct and another one on 20th Oct.

I guess in 2 more days I will know if my discount starts from the 8th or from 20th. Though only 12 days, still not happy my contract is longer by 12 days...
