Only if he has an alternative option at his place then only can consider not to be "jailed". For my place (JB), there is no other choice, so jail or not is not actually relevant.

But he is now paying the same for 30mbps. Upgrade to 100mbps with same price - free speed upgrade, why not?

RM129 already include the useless TV plan, it is actually RM99 + RM30 stated in the bill. Please try to talk to another TM Point guy/lady. The RM129 package should be nett nett, no more extra charges.

You are now "upgrading" from 30mbps to 100mbps, so should be able to direct upgrade. Worth a trip to TM Point to get the 70mbps upgrade. But they may add 2 years contract to your existing half year instead of recounting the 2 years from now. But only relevant if you have another alternative ISP to choose from. Else, 2.5 years or 2 years doesn't really matter.

I think mine is standard Ruby package. I din make any changes from my previous Turbo 800mbps standard package. I am not using the service at all.

I think this is the initial info we were told when getting the RM129 100mbps package. But after that there was an official annoucement by TM that the price will stay after 2 years. It is their normal style to change their statement and policy then reverse then change then reverse....... and on and on and on.....

So just sit back, relax and enjoy the RM129 for 2 years first. Till then only we see how it will actually happen. Nothing much we can do now too.

yes, one of my colleague dun even have Streamyx. She applied for Streamyx and after the installer came to check, the speed is too low, so installation cancelled. After nearly 7 years of waiting, finally she manage to apply for Unifi early this month and just been informed this weekend will come to install.

Another colleague not so lucky. His situation similar to you - the other 2 streets next to his already has Unifi, just his street doesn't have. Up to today still stuck with unstable Streamyx. He said he will wait until end of this month to terminate Streamyx.

I am wondering my ancient RM60 Streamyx 384kbps use at office will be upgraded for free or not? Last time i registered it under personal name for office use as it is the cheapest way to get basic internet. After that they change policy and not possible to register personal line in commercial area anymore.

Check the account at Unifi and the generic message just pop out saying "Unifi is coming to your area...blah blah blah...". If give me 10mbps Lite at RM60 I won't mind at all.

how can this make me feel better? I will gladly take that package if Unifi offer me. But unfortunately now Unifi only offer RM129 100mbps and RM79 30mbps only.

yes, the Unifi management still thinking of how to increase their top line by forcing the consumers to pay for what they do not want. Glad that Maxis makes the first move. It is time for Unifi to follow. RM149 bare Unifi for 300mbps, RM169 for 500mbps, RM199 for 800mbps are much reasonable packages.

I really hope that getting reasonably fast Broadband is as easy as getting electricity in this country. Moving house in a few months time to a new housing area without Unifi. Telekom refuse to go in unless there is enough ready subscribers.
