No problem using others name to sign up certain contract with extra perks, so long u r frank with the party signing contract and he knows what u r doing with his identity. Stay low key under the radar, dont download 777 TB a month like one Verizon FiOS subscriber, dont host download server n u will be fine, dont catch their attention, haha.

In fact, i had similar experience where i was using the rented unit's wifi under previous tenant name who left like a year ago. We pay on behalf of him of course since we are the ones using it. Gentleman agreement.

My analogy could be flawed, correct me of im wrong... Equate the wireless tramsmission speed to car top speed; router grade AC1200, AC1750 etc as engine displacement. To get higher and stable speed over a long distance, u need to produce more powerful wave. In order to do so, that requires more energy, u can see that the high end router's adapter is similar to laptop's having more than 2.0A of electricity flow which is comparable to fuel consumption of a high displacement cc engine. If u want wider coverage and higher actual speed, look for the "ACxxxx" grade as general guideline, dont look for dbi or the so called high power antenna. U can notice that as the AC number goes up, so does the power rating or Ampere. U want stronger signal, u require more energy, no shortcut about it. For 300M, get at least AC1750 to be safe imo.

Then there's the channel thingy, 2x2 etc. Furthermore u need to tally that with your client's NIC specs to determine what kind of wifi speed u shud be expecting.

Well, look around online for emulators and setup videos to get a hold of the setup interface before buying. Most home use routers have 1st time setup wizard that will guide u through the input of parameters. To be safe, get a router that has local support that's using Malaysia firmware so that u have preconfigured VLAN settings specific to Malaysia ISP. These 4 inputs, no shortcut about it: pppoe username n pw; wifi ssid/name & wifi pw.

Give u higher speed to shortchange u into thinking that your internet bill has been discounted while they maintain their profit margin ARPU.

U mean how do they adjust your bandwidth? They do so at their server by adjusting your account info. Simply put, its a soft cap, the download speed is tied to your account. If u have a neighbour sharing same FDP or OLT as u but having 800M line, u can use his BTU at your house to get 800M dl speed too. Ask the purple guy blowing tunes, lol

Sometimes, there's something called download failure, if u constantly monitor download client like torrent, there's something like packet loss, ending up, u downloaded more than u need. Say, a 100MB file, u downloaded 102MB to obtain it.

Err, your connection type is fiber or copper (vdsl technology)?

Throw 850L out of picture. U r better off getting dir868L AC1750 from carousell singapore.

C5v2 iianm has custom firmware option, but not the other 2. Dir868L definitely has custom firmware option. Maybe u can also consider tplink A7.

U need at least AC1750 to fully harvest the bandwidth imo. Those routers that u listed are grade AC1200.

Wired or wireless?

72.2Mbps is the keyword if your result is wireless.

For wireless 2.4GHz it is normal
