Anyway, the big disappoint is the design, the K850i design (hopefully not the final one) looks ugly, it looks like an air cond remote control with those squarish buttons. Not with a touch of class. Hai .......

If it is made of saphire glass like some branded watches then it won't be scratched so easily but for normal glass, fine scratches are really unavoidable. I guess they should include a lens cover like K800i / K810i.

Well, you forgot to mention one thing, my first Nokia 8210 (first batch) costs about RM1800 but it was made in Finland (ori set of course) and the price went down when the subsequent sets were made in China. So since the most Sony Ericsson models are made in China, there's a chance for this baby to be priced below RM2K as we don't consider 5MP a very high end specs nowadays for handphones when digital cameras are already pass the 12MP mark.

However, the odd thing about K850i is the design ain't that pleasing on my eyes, at least K810i looked much better by comparison. Not sure how the market will react to this design but 3 out of 5 people I know didn't like the design at all.

It's a pity K850i is not using a 16-bit true colour screen like some of the Nokia models. It will be a good match for this camera phone to have a true colour screen so that pictures taken will appear more vivid in colour.

The keypad layout and design are really a step behind K810i. Sigh ......

1.5K is possible is they know how to cut corners to source for cheaper components and assemble in a third world country where cheap labour is not a problem.

Should be either made in Malaysia, China or I dunno where unlike those days, those old school Ericsson handphones with a large antenna, were mostly made in Sweden. Hai .... miss those days of having a handphone made in an European country, there were most reliable and the built quality was excellent.

Hopefully it rocks lah but we won't know until we get to test the actual unit. Should be pretty soon.

Honestly, I have not encountered any joystick problems with my K800i so far and I don't see why people are making a big fuss about the joystick thingy. It depends on how you use your phone sometimes. You can't blame SE if the owner abuses his phone, right?

Very true but if you wait one year later, it will probably be less than RM1.3K .... Who knows, right? I usually buy my phones after they have been released for at least 6-8 months, it's not that I don't have a phone to use, I prefer to get them when the price is not that hot.

If you need WLan, I guess you should wait for W960i instead.
