to TS ... 1Jz will incur higher maintainance than your current car. Always remember that 1JZ is a high performance engine So you have to use high quality synthetic engine oil too. Each time you change engine oil you have to buy 2 tong of 4L cos 1Jz uses more than 4L engine oil.

Remember what I told you about the special plugs and cables too

I was in the same shoes as you before...almost bought E46. Ended up I bought the E36 which is waaaaaaaaaay lower cost to maintain. I tell you a secret la about 1JZ in BMW that many people dont realise. PM me if you wanna know. It will save you a lotta money.

if u really put the engine from the e46 and 36 side by side, it isnt actually very diferent (as in design and tech wise). The e46 doesnt have that many overly complicated sensors tbh, its pretty much like most engines from around the era.

Now if you talk about electronics, then i get your point.... electronics everywhere.

E46 is a beauty! Just do it TS. Take your time to look for a well maintained one. But not agree on changing engine. You are killing a beautiful machine.

Orait. after 1 year plus. i already buy BMW e46 318ci msport year 2000 with very poorly maintain owner. Luckily sub frame all OK... the car only RM27k OTR. M43 engine was under power. just finish overhaul cooling system changing ALL OLD sensor, replace new engine n gearbox lifetime OIL. . not to mention it cost around RM4.5k tongue.gif. but so far OK la. It be my daily drive car. cost me around RM60-70 petrol per week.

Next project will be looking for S54B32 engine biggrin.gif biggrin.gif LOL
