Interactive navigation with the GPS Enabler HGE-100

user posted image

Specification? No idea yet. Next time maybe!

Find your way: Navigation with voice and text commands
The K530 is the perfect partner for the GPS Enabler HGE-100. However you're traveling - on foot, cycle, car or bus - just plug in the HGE-100 and let it find your way and direct you with dynamic voice instructions, delivered through the stereo headset. When used with the GPS Enabler, the K530 will also keep you on-track with your fitness training. As a phone and accessory combination, the two can record speed and distance, and also provide visual post-training analysis on the good-sized 2" screen. The K530's media player will ensure that you always have your favorite songs with you when training.

Stay on track

'Tracker' GPS sports application records training sessions and analyses performance

Add flexibility

Compatible with many Sony Ericsson phones. Plugs in and doubles as a stereo portable handsfree.

The HGE-100 is the first personal GPS navigator that is built-in to a Stereo Portable Handsfree. This gives you the flexibility to decide when you want GPS on your phone. Plug it into your phone when you wish, use it as a handsfree to control calls and music or switch to GPS mode when you want to find your way.

Find yourself anywhere
However you are travelling, the HGE-100 will navigate you anywhere thanks to the navigation solution which is included with the product. You can choose between voice or text commands, and it's simple to navigate the graphical, icon-based display. It can save destinations so that you don't have to repeat your commands if you go somewhere more than once, and you can search your destination by address, person, company and even local points of interest.

Keep on track
Use the GPS Enabler as your personal trainer by using the 'Tracker' GPS sports application installed within the HGE-100. It monitors your speed, distance, route and calorie burn, recording and analysing data so you can monitor your progress. Because the HGE-100 gives you full control of your phone's media player, you can enjoy music or the radio while working out and, if your run takes you further than you intended, you can always navigate your way back home if you need to.

A great team player
Flexible, lightweight and comfortable, the GPS Enabler HGE-100 is the perfect partner for the new Sony Ericsson K530 3G phone, also announced today. There is a universal 3.5mm connector half way up the cord, so you can switch headphones for different environments if you want to. The HGE-100 is compatible with a host of recent Sony Ericsson phones, including the popular K800 Cyber-shot(tm) phone. [Beat that Nokia N95 and Navigator whistling.gif ]

The GPS Enabler HGE-100 will be available in selected markets from Q3 2007.

ya true true. it is just mid-range K series with 3G. now K is not for cybershot only.

best part is the GPS enabler will work on existing model (some not all maybe). but then really cant wait to see how the software looks like in the phone.

I'm wondering why did SE release the GPS enabler with a earphone in 1 device instead of 2 seperate devices?

Doesn't make much sense to me at this point of time.

Didn't think of that. smile.gif

But that wouldn't be that convenient for navigating while driving?

Nevertheless not bad an idea from SE! biggrin.gif

ever recall thier thier FM receiver also built-in to thierhandsfree?

the fact i believe is the GPS already built-in. and the hansfree is a bonus to make it have better signal receive/broadcast for GPS.

nope... i dont think GPS built in others model accept inside K530i. others still can use the HGE-100 as a handsfree only.

no.. the GPS should work with other models. SE mentioned that the GPS HGE-100 should be compatible with all Sony Ericsson mobile phones with Java support from Sony Ericsson K800 onwards. Why would you need java for?

For business, that price should not be earning any profit, most of it will be ap set.

Very easy to check out only, just ask you friend to take out the battery cover and check the sticker behind the battery and on the phone got the word of "MIDLAND" will be the original authorized set, other will ap set.
This price will be profit 100++ for ap set.

Add on : This phone firmware can be flashing to W660i firmware, that got the WALKMAN player inside and the nice flash theme.

I'm planning to buy this phone K530i for my gf (as she likes it very much) but not sure this is good or not? Can the current users give me some feedback about this phone? About its pros and cons...... and i know of course it cannot compare to K800i or 810i so i just wanna know overall is it a worth buying phone for the price? thanks!

after several time compare with k618 , k530i and k800i

k618 - don't have radio.
k800i - over budget
then, i take k530i for RM 650...bit expensive i think..

btw..nice hp for mid range user...

it is risky and would void the warranty to flash the firmware. Better wait until warranty over ah ... ohh the demo can ask other k530i users to BT it to me rite ?

wah, this thread is not active. i just bought k530i and use it for 2 weeks now. RM530 AP package (K530i for 530 cool2.gif). no m2 card. they offer rm70 for 1g. but i manage to get 2g for rm80.

anyway, i just flash it with w660i. work great except keyboard light dim out when walkman v2 runs. try to search for solution at 'SE Modding Thread V2' http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/513166/ but not much info for k530i. not a big matter but it is good if it can be fixed.

so any forumer had the same problem? how u fix it?

K530i design looked even smoother & slimmer than K610i or K618i. It's more elegant & classy compared to K610i/K618i along with a good reasonable price as well. Thinking of changing one unit for my fiancee as she's using a K618i now.

What's the lowest price currently in the market for new AP set of K530i now? I would prefer the Warm Silver colored set.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, does your K530i creak when you squeeze it? It seems that the back case creaks when I squeeze it between the keypad and the back when you're typing it. Nothing major but after a while the creaks get to you. Anyone has this problem?

Should I send it back for servicing? Mine's an AP set. Bought it for RM550 with 512mb card and 3 months insurance (additional stuff), free case and pouch at Digital Mall in Seksyen 14.

Winston

PS: I flashed my K530i to W660. I love the flash menus but I lost the ability to get delivery report for the sms. Anyone facing this problem?

Can use with my Stereo Bluetooth Headphone,(cost less than rm100)

Battery life short if use with Bluetooth Music listening

Anyway i managed to cramp a BST-40 battery by stripping it almost bare and some filling here and there.. biggrin.gif

Now battery lasting a bit longer..
