Local shop & online only sells black ones. More than 10 years ago, Tie Rack in Sg Wang do sell many designs. But today only foreign websites has them. One of them is Gentlemansgazette. If you think the prices are premium, 10 years ago at Tie rack, a self tie bow tie cost from RM350-RM450. Yes i remembered the price because i wanted one that i could not afford.

If you are at their shop, just ask for it as they usually does not display them. https://mytieshop.com.my/product-category/bow-tie Else just surf Lazada & Shopee. I guess Malaysians don't fancy bow ties.https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/acce...s/bow-ties-silk https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/acce...s/bow-ties-wool https://www.gentlemansgazette.com/shop/acce.../bow-ties-linen On the local front, MyTie still has some. QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 30 2019, 08:10 AM) Have you ever worn one before? It is the frustration & satisfaction you get from tying it yourself. But if you see a person wear self tie one, definitely looks different from hook on one. It will have more volume and puff. Those ready made one all looks like folded origami. |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 30 2019, 02:06 PM) Generally you are correct. But then..... my cheap RM349 smartphone = most expensive RM2999 smartphone. They both work the same, looks the same. A RM12 TESCO t-shirt & Versace RM 600 t-shirt. Both also t-shirt. I love to say same also. Or maybe a RM60K low cost terrace house = RM500K terrace house. Both also house. You pay for RM6 Daiso vs RM39 MyTie vs RM1050 (Luxury brand) bow tie, generally they are the same. But you are paying for aesthetics. That one how do you value? Most of the time we are not paying for tangible/ physical things. A brass screw and a titanium screw are still the same thing.... a screw. Then when you come to the functionality of it, the price makes sense. While to be fair a bowtie does nothing. You will pay for aesthetics. The other thing is rarity. Not many people makes them anymore. So it would cost more. |
