Last year november took my iphone 6 to switch service centre for battery replacement promotion rm121. But later i was told my phone had contacted water n not allow battery replacement. I only received rm21 refund after making few calls to pursue. They told me fail to replace battery, rm100 is non refundable. Who can confirm? Feel cheated n not fair to pay for rm100 but battery is not allow to replace.

give Apple a call, explain to them the situation, ask them give you a case id. you definitely been conned by Switch. Apple doesn’t conduct their business this way and certainly the same expectation on their authorised reseller. last option? viral in facebook.

For my case I took it to Switch and was told there’s liquid indicator turned red, they proceed with battery change. But weeks later the phone cannot be switched on and totally bricked.
It was working fine before.
If I send to Switch, they will quote me a replacement price (RM1.9k) for my iPhone 7 Plus, if refuse, there will be surcharge of RM100 cancellation fee.

When you sign the paper for the repairs, they aways mentions (something similar to) "in the event of repair failure, the RM100 labour charge still applies"

Machines is the worst.

I sent my iPhone for battery replacement at Machines KLCC and paid the RM 121. This comes with a 3 month warranty on the entire device.

They actually spoiled my screen during the battery replacement. There was a shadow line on the screen which I noticed 1 day after I collected the phone.

I attempted to contact them immediately but there is never an answer on their contact number. I left messages to no avail. Emails were unanswered.

I walked in to the store a few days after and they refused to honour the warranty on the unit. I contacted Apple who said the unit was still under warranty. It kept bouncing back from Machines to Apple but Machines still refused to honour the warranty. They wanted to charge me RM 899 to repair the screen.

This is like an unscrupulous car workshop which deliberately inflicts damage on your vehicle to extort further payments for repair from a customer. They are real crooks

Finally Apple asked me to take the unit to QCD instead and I received professional service.

I later found out from other customers who had purchased their iPhones and i devices from Harvey Norman but had sent them to Machines for repair that they faced similar circumstances.

Apparently Machines has a bad reputation for using used and counterfeit parts to replace original iPhone parts when units are sent for repair. A lot of their ex staff who are disgruntled by this. subsequently leave for other shops and confirm this unethical behaviour.

Their technicians seem technically incompetent and unprofessional and their service staff are arrogant and rude.

I lodged a complaint with the NCCC.

It is strange why Apple should choose to associate with them or have them represent the brand at all.
