Hi everyone,

Anyone ever uses Qanvast apps platform to find the ID and contractor?

Would you please share the experience? pros and cons?

As of now, many poor stories I heard from friends regarding contractor hunting through Kaodim where many unreliable contractors provide very poor services to the homeowner.

Appreciate your advice and sharing.

TQ

My experienced ...

NEVER pay upfront or deposit to contractor before starting work. Draw up a progressive payment schedule.

If a contractor says no capital, then he is not a businessman. Dont get trapped with cheap quotation.

I've used Qanvast and met 2 IDs which contact me through Qanvast. In the end didn't use them cause they were slow in providing my quotation.

My conclusion, good platform to get IDs who are interested in your project to contact you and initiate instead of you hunting for IDs.

I tried using qanvast, the IDs who accepted my request are all not impressive or picky. They only do new condo etc. So in the end i will be hiring another company outside qanvast.

Any idea what's the deal on those only wanting to do new condo?

I also tried using it, we wanted a modern Nordic design made strictly from locally sourced materials especially the woods and tiles. We showed them some Swedish and Finnish magazines for inspirations but in the end nothing that came out of it were impressive and they had the cheek to say we did not know what we want or did not know what Nordic styles were.

In the end, we did select 1 of them to work with but in the end the person became a no show when we told him we were keeping the original floors and kitchen cabinets.

I have used Qanvast for hunting the ID for my new condo renovation...however, the one that proposed and recommended by the Qanvast team was the one who has less experience and lack of testimony from the previous project...

They already proposed 2 times to me, however, none of the candidates meeting my expectation...

Same here. Qanvast proposed in total 3 times.. the first round, IDs they proposed dont even have company background in their qanvast page. -.-

I don't think anyone would hire them if they dont have the will to even fill up their background page.

Does anyone know how does one go about finding an ID these days?

I've been trying to scout for an ID but have not had any luck.

I believe that they already have a standard template to work on new condos. So basically what they do is copy paste and do a little bit of colour play here and there to make it look original. Quick work and full price for their "creativity"

Use https://atap.co/malaysia/en, they have a lot of good ID. but whether or not the IDs attend to you would really depends on their target market

That does explain why there are hardly anything bespoke or one of a kind these days. Some are rather expensive too.

Thanks for the link.

Some rather interesting projects there.

Now I know who the ID is for one show house I wasn't impressed with biggrin.gif

Yes you are right. And this is not a surprise to me, its the same thing that M&E, C&S, and architects have been doing for years. Parklane was one of them. China is filled with apartments that look the same. Just that now it is practiced by IDs

If it is a new condo you should have no shortage of them within the condo itself.

If it is an old condo, Atap has some good ones and a google search also nets in quite a few good ones.

Surprisingly one place to find some lower priced ones are on Mudah.
