Generally speaking, 24th Oct is too early for koyo in either areas.
You might need to head up to higher elevations for that.

If you're not in a rush, you can just go to the JR counter at Kansai airport and buy the ICOCA card and Haruka ticket when you arrive. You can also opt to buy the Kansai One Pass instead of the ICOCA card (works the same but comes with some added discount benefits). You can get specially designed cards only from the counter which you can keep as a souvenir.
*
hmmmm....the price is different right?
Kansai One Pass is 3000yen (included 500 yen deposit) = 1500 yen value
ICOCA is 2000yen (Included 500yen deposit) - 2500 yen value

Kansai One Pass can get Haruka discount ticket? I know ICOCA card can

I already bought my USJ tickets earlier with Klook B1F1, now wanna buy Express Tickets. Waiting for any promo or 10.10 sales.
Anyway, there's 5% for MBB cards now. Better than nothing.

Back to travels, Japan is not my favourite country yet but I like it. laugh.gif
Travelled to many countries all these years and I don't have any country which I really like yet. laugh.gif

Opps didnt know...bought it at normal price d sad.gif

I missed it too. I think mid of the year, I bought voucher from someone in Carousell.
So, just go to the event to get yours. biggrin.gif
Which one? Entrance ticket or Express ticket?
For Express ticket, I'm checking both Klook and Taobao, see which one is cheaper.
*
I mean normal entry ticket. Bought it at RM316 per tix

KOP is a fancy ICOCA (it has the ICOCA logo on the card) for foreign tourists only with discount benefits for some places in Kansai.
Maybe you can see if any of the benefits is of any use to you: https://kansaionepass.com/en/list/category/benefitspots

I'm afraid I can't answer your second question cos I have not used my KOP outside of Kansai. You're right about IC cards being accepted in Japan nationwide so theoretically it can. Maybe someone else who has used an ICOCA outside of Kansai can confirm this for you.  biggrin.gif
Actually your calculation should be the other way round:
Kansai One Pass = 3000 yen - 500 yen deposit = 2500 yen value in card
ICOCA = 2000 yen - 500 yen deposit = 1500 yen value in card

So price is actually the same, just that you get more value in the Kansai One Pass card to use.

Yes, you can get the Haruka discounted ticket with the Kansai One Pass. I bought this when I was in Osaka last year.  smile.gif

Oppps...sorry my brain still not awake biggrin.gif Thanks for your clarification. Anyway, 1500 yen wont be enough also...transportation aint cheap

Oh, if you're not getting off at Kyoto or Shin-Osaka, I suggest you shouldn't bother with the Haruka train. Just save your money for eating - use the Nankai Ltd Express and switch trains at Tengachaya station.
*
I'm going straight to Kyoto from Kansai Airport...i need to get Haruka Train ticket. Can get the same place when i purchase Kansai One Pass right

Or else, try looking into hello1010 for more options.

HI,

I'm going to Kyoto on 23 oct, would like to ask is it worth to purchase the Sagano romantic train (in Arashiyama) around that period. Because I wonder got foliage at that time, or just all green leaves.
