I am actually subscribed to unifi 100Mbps + unifi TV (STB) for RM 159/month... internet is RM 129 with RM 30 discount (RM 99), and unifi TV is RM 60, so in total RM 159.

For downgrade request, if you’re still within the contract period, the contract period will be renewed to 24 months. If you downgrade after the contract period, you will be tied to a new contract period.

No, I had some problems with the STB so they replaced it.. so the contract extended for another 2 years. I guess I can downgrade to RM 129 without ultimate pack but there will be RM 10 penalty.

So apparently the unifi TV app (android TV) now works on other Android TV devices... read here: https://www.lowyat.net/2020/216793/unifi-tv...oid-tv-devices/. Summarised version below:

Initially you were not able to run the app on other Android TV devices, but in the latest update dated 30 June 2020 (version 1.2.2), the unifi TV app is now no longer exclusive to unifi Plus box.

Admin on unifi Community forum confirmed that this is actually unifi TV’s official plan and not a glitch.

It’s good that unifi is changing their policy, allowing their app to run on Android TV devices rather than on their own unifi Plus box. Also just in time as Astro is also making an Android TV app called Astro TV, currently in beta (https://www.lowyat.net/2020/215871/astro-tv-app-closed-beta-android-tv/).

I managed to download the unifi TV app on my Sony X80G TV. Just head to Google Play and type “unifi TV”. You should be able to find it there.

Someone on YouTube by the name of “Hariz Zamri” says there will be new channels on unifi TV... (https://youtu.be/_WqQfkgUcbo)

He also say that Polimer channel will cease transmission on 1st September due to low viewership.

Don’t know if I should believe him, cause no official announcement from unifi... but anyone know anything about this?

Yes, it’ll support since it’s Android TV Box, you can download the unifi PlayTV app.

Yeah, I was having trouble logging into unifi TV box so they reset the password. Did not work, so they sent technician over to replace the box. After that, I receive msg from TM saying they are giving me the new UI.

Maybe you need to have the new UI to be able to use the playTV / unifi TV apps?

I recommend you get the white box from unifi (cost RM 53 and extend contract another 24 months OR pay one-off RM 360 if it’s your fault) since you are not planning to install other apps. It should be unifi’s fault because their software is laggy so mention that.

You can also get the new unifi Plus Box with Android TV, so can install apps and watch unifi TV.

- Some Android TV box/brands (Google certified ones) can install unifi TV apps with minimal problem. I tried on my Sony x80G and can work.
- Yes, all your channels as per subscription will be available.
- Yes, but make sure your account is migrated.

Maybe try logging in and out, clearing the app cache (Settings > Apps > unifi TV > Clear cache), reset the app (Settings > Apps > unifi Tv > Clear data), or uninstall and re-install. If not, reboot your device.

You can buy the latest remote from unifi, and pair it with your silver box.

Not recommended getting the white box. TM doesn’t sell unlocked (only without GMS), and even if you do buy unlocked, you’re limited by the specs (like Android version, RAM, ROM)... Better off getting a Mi TV Stick or NVIDIA Shield.

Yes, unbind and bind can be done. Just give them your MAC address.

Don’t know much about this SVI Box, but seems like it runs Android 7.1.

unifi TV app (both mobile and Android TV) only works on unrooted and Android-certified devices.

Also, can you take a screenshot/picture of the message?
