midnight tonight, i will check HBOmax, CMgo on my ATV.

email says just open HBOgo, it will prompt u to change to HBOmax, done.

i got no email about CMgo.

got HBOmax, ok, easy.

CMgo... checked selfcare, it's not free for Ultimate Max, but RM9.90pm.

something is wrong then...

i logged in to activate but CMgo isn't showing together with the rest.

it is listed as addon RM9.90pm.

think will wait a bit, may need to chat with them.

the app is now having problem.

most likely, someone was sleeping on the job.

After many tries, I finally see CMgo app on the list, free.

They ask for email, pw.

I dunno what pw... Phone no.?

I thought I was already registered user like the other apps but no...
U must sign up first... Do Email, pw.
Then receive email, verify.
PQ is not good, 720p, "HD".
Audio is Dolby.

The mess they made with this cmgo launch:

.. no prior notice about this app.
.. come launch time, not ready, can't see anything on myunifi.
.. gotta wait 20 hrs for it to become available.
.. no instruction saying u need to sign up, sign in.
.. conclusion... Maybe Unifitv doesn't really want u to use this app, doesn't care.
.. poor launch, shameful.

In contrast, Hbomax launch was very good, v smooth, no problem. Plenty of info, notices.

Iqiyi is 1080p, cmgo is 720p, dunno TVb as I dun use.

Overall, I m ok paying for iqiyi... CMgo is free, ok la.

like hbogo... Won't use much. Hbomax is v fine.

probably same thing like hbogo.

there could be several grades, unifitv pay for cheap grade for bundles.

to my eyes, it is 720p, not as good as those in iqiyi 1080p.

diff is noticeable on larger screens.

if yr hbogo is already active, just open it up, it will ask u to download/install max.

then, just set up a profile, done. no ID/pw req'd.


free 3 months HBOmax for ultimate max is in 4K UHD SDR, not HDR.

nice to watch some old movies in remastered 4K.

hottest TV show now is Dune Prophecy, epi 2 out tmr.

netlfix, some are 4K HDR, some are 1080p HDR, rest are 1080p SDR.

hbomax, not sure if there is 4K HDR option but right now, i see ALL titles are 4K SDR.

Check yr android version.

If too old, may not hv CMgo.

I hv a TV android 6, cannot.

I am on Ultimate max - Unifi tv + apps.

i use multiple devices, installed unifitv, available apps on 5-6 devices.

below may be useful for some people:


..UPB box is great, everything works well - incl Netflix 4KHDR, atmos.

..Android TV 12, OK, everything works incl HBO max, CMgo but audio is just Dolby 5.1.

..Android TV 6... not so good, CMgo and UnifiTV apps missing in playstore, not compatible; HBOmax can install but video is messed up, can't watch.

..PC Windows 10, 11... with microsoft store/edge browser, netflix, iqiyi works very well.

..Android 12 phone... i dun use it to watch but very impt to hv a phone with the apps installed & active so that when another device needs activation, can do easily by scanning QR code.


my next venture is to get a new Google TV!

i just bought a mibox s 2ndgen, android 11.

everything works well incl Netflix & HBOmax in UHD dolby atmos.

EXCEPT there's no CMgo in playstore!

i tried to sideload the apk but was rejected by the OS.

Any idea why, solution, anyone?
