As per title, wanna replace tyre sized 215/45/r18...

Price budget below rm450/piece

Currently targeting:
MC6@rm350 (cheap and branded but mixed reviews online and personally had bad experience as easy puncture)
yokohama advan fleva v701 @ RM413 (cheap UHP)
goodyear F1D5 (never tried)
PS3 (cause michelin reputable)

primacy too expensive liao haha

To all sifu, please share experience with tyre around that range...
I'm kind of a aggressive driver with tyre chips/blisters on tyre surface...Downgrading from pirelli cause no more money sad.gif

Fleva reviews have not been good or consistent so not sure. I personally wouldn't try this tire.

F1D5 is good and reliable but will have chipping issue if driven hard. I had tried it once.

PS3 doesn't have this size, at least from the Michelin Malaysia web. Only has the new Primacy 4 which is not UHP tire for aggressive driving.

MC6 is a bit unproven yet, so not sure too but between this and Fleva, maybe I'd prefer MC6 coz a bit cheaper and generally Continental makes better tires than Yokohama (except for track ready tires).

Your size is a bit odd, is it for Mazda 3? Maybe can use 225/45/18 so much more choices and easier to find. I'd recommend Hankook V12 Evo 2 or Falken FK510 for this size.

Why not go for 225/45/18? Tyre choice much more

MC6 - Entry Level UHP, cheaper than PS4, grip about 70-80% of PS4, Much quieter, easy puncture that is MC5
V701 - Mid Tier Performance, Loves to scream during corner but not indicating losing grip
F1D5 - Noisy but grippy kinda old tech, maybe try F1A3?
PS4 - Have this size, if budget allow then go ahead 😊 you won't regret
V12evo2 - Mid Tier Performance, Softwall slightly softer than V701

Just replace all of those because they're all no good tires. How long is longer life for you??

Yup agree. For tires, don't be a cheapskate. If cannot afford then should not use big size tires to begin with. It's better to use smaller rims but with good tires than big rims but crap tires.

Front is one japan not sure wat brand and mc5. mc5 is very botak till little bit silver thingy can see on the left inner shoulder.

Behind is 1 year old accelera and half year old hifly.

I am intend to change the front to two longer life tyre. budget not important. I also don't know, but xm2 on my myvi looks like last forever. i average drive 2k km every month.

Edit : I was looking for mc5, but the shop say no longer have that series. sad.gif

The thing about Michelin is that they chipped quite easily. Furthermore, the side thread tends to ‘burn’ more regardless of the alignment problem.

Tried MC5. Nothing great about these tyres. Some reviews says MC6 is better. Anyway, if you are looking for longer life tyres, then you should look for GY tyres.

Haha, not an issue for me =D

Cause i burn through all 4 of my PS3 Tyres in 1 year =D

If chipping is an issue to you, then maybe try something else loh....

Michelin IS the BEST WET performing tyres though, PERIOD.

Gotta take the good with the bad.

My goodness, gado2 mix setup! doh.gif Seriously, change them all! You should not mix 4 different tires in 1 car, some more they're ALL crap tires too! Get that Hankook V12 Evo 2, only rm325/pc which dirt cheap already for a very good high performance tires at such big size too. If you still cannot afford that, then seriously, just downgrade to smaller rims.

Downgrade rim means need to buy another set of rims, can change 2 sets of tyres lor.... sweat.gif The payback is quite long down the road starting only from the 3rd set of tyres....

Eh...how come no one recommend FK510?
