QUOTE(jolipoli81 @ Jun 15 2007, 03:40 PM) tell me, how long can the G7 record video? depends on the memory? because G2 only can record for 30sec =.=" i dun think any canon dc will let u have long hour video recording as they are using inefficient Motion JPEG codec (save licensing cost?) which is a low compression format and thus the size is big, my dc only allows me to record 7.5min of 640 x 480 pixels @ 30 fps on 1GB SD.

According to Dpreview, you could shoot movies up to 4.0GB in size or 29min of video. I suppose with 8GB SDHC, u could shoot about an hour of movie (into 2-avi files, i.e. 2 x 4GB of movie file). QUOTE(hannahtbt @ Jun 17 2007, 05:30 AM) With the G7 movie mode, there's a long time lag to write to SD card after you stop recording and you can't use the optical zoom. A DV cam don't have this issue. IMHO digicam is suitable only for short 15-30 secs of recording. Photo -> G7, Video -> MD120 there is no stoppage with 640x480 30fps filming for my a620 to fill-up 1gb per clip (limitation of digic2) on my 2GB 150x SD, i suppose g7 with digic3 should have no issue as well. u r rite, no optical zooming during filming is an obvious setback.

QUOTE(hannahtbt @ Jun 17 2007, 02:05 PM) Yes, that's right. What I meant was after you press the stop recording button, you'll have to wait a while for it to complete writing to the SD card. No fun what speed the card u using?

no choice, G7 is identified as similar to DSLR-like already...those DSLR cant even capture videos.... at least the G7 can..... well...from G2 to G6, i like the rotatable LCD but i dunno why such good feature is not on the latest G7, and no RAW format for 1st time in G series....how SAD is that?

QUOTE(hannahtbt @ Jun 17 2007, 10:43 PM) For DSLR-like (ie. manual control) also can consider - Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 (wide angle) - Canon Powershot A620 (rotatable LCD) IMHO, RAW function isn't neccessary... I've already bought the G7, the photo quality didnt really satisfy me....but maybe the shutter speed is good~ didnt totally try everything out yet

Give it some time, play with the camera. You'll get use to it and use the camera efficiently.

QUOTE(hannahtbt @ Jun 20 2007, 01:22 PM) I would think it's priced to sell rather than too cheap. With 4MP and more than 5 years old since it was introduced, it competes with the new Powershot A series priced around RM500-RM1,000. Hence it should not be worth more than RM500 on the pre-loved market. Not many people would want to buy an old model unless they're on a tight budget and just looking for a simple camera which is cheap yet good. Batteries that are long used will depreciate in value substantially. Besides one can buy OEM batteries at very low cost these days and need not rely on pricey original batteries. Those who bought your camera is also taking a risk of not being able to find replacement batteries in the future as it's a discontinued model. but the minolta is using AA standart battery...and its cheap, a lot of ppl pm me, and i manage to sell it RM100 somehow....

QUOTE(hannahtbt @ Jun 22 2007, 12:58 AM) Probably someone buys for collection, experiment or give to their little kid to play with. I sold my cap ayam PnS digicam for RM100+ to a guy who wants to give it to his small kid as he doesn't want his kid to fiddle with his own camera and risk spoiling it. Why don't you ask the buyer the reason he/she is buying it for? nuh, i wont ask my customer why they are buying my products unless they are telling me.....and indeed, he is giving his daugther that camera
