Im planning to buy a tx3 mini in a few days mainly for Astro Go, but after reading this thread, it seems that there's a lot of issue with it. Is it still a good buy or should I go for a different version.

Edit: I didn't notice the updated post but I did buy the correct version but seller send me an updated version of the box.

I think same case. Android 8 with Alice UI here. I'm currently in touch with the seller to resolve this.

I hope so too. Currently the seller is trying to help me downgrade the firmware. But apparently the firmware that he sent yesterday doesn't work for the box. He promised to sent me a different firmware today. Fingers crossed.

I've received the firmware but I just got home from outstation. Planning on trying the update tonight. Stay tune!! Jeng jeng jeng.

Update: The seller provided wrong firmware again. Now waiting for them to send the correct firmware.

It finally worked!!! But not via downgrading though.

I managed to buy one with a 7.1.2 firmware from linglang.

Just close the root option using the superuser and run the official astro go app.

Voila, working flawlessly.

If anyone wants to buy the box with 7.1 version, just chat with the seller first before buying, tell them that you want the specific firmware.

You just add a note to seller during the purchase to remind them about the firmware, and then provide the order number to them again via chat.

And they will send you one with the 7.1 firmware.

Best part, no Alice UI.

I just have 1. Coincidentally one of my friend is looking for an android box to be used with his IPTV service, so I just sold that to him and purchase a new one.

Alice is nice but it is a bit slow. So now just plain UI. A bit faster and smoother.

Plus, watching on the phone/pc is not as nice as watching with the tv in the hall.

It depends on the firmware I guess. My "old" TX3 mini got bluetooth with the 8.1 firmware. The new one I haven't test yet, but I suspect it doesn't have the support since all the firmware that the seller try to send have "no bluetooth" as a part of their naming. LOL

I've upgraded my Astro Go to the latest version and it is still running fine on my TX3 V7.1 . I think it even performed better than the previous version.

TX3 Mini new 8.1 version got bluetooth already bro.

I didn't logout but it automatically kicked me out when I opened the app.

Can but at low res. Full HD and above cannot.

Unrooted and genuine account. Still cannot login to watch.
