most powerful anti-virus is yourself. With the right kind of PC usage habit, you can get away without installing any antivirus. Because there are no antivirus in this world that is 100% fool proof. Best you can do is read about reviews of the few famous ones like,

symantec, mcafee, nod32 and so on.

The best way not get infected by virus - install a fresh copy of windows, never goes online, read mail, chatting. Never install other software than M$ products. Never insert other media CD,pendrive, floppy to your pc. YOU WILL BE SAFE FROM VIRUS

There never is a "greatest". Every AV have a flaw one way or another. the right way to use it is to control ur Internet habit. Pron sites are a no no

@TS:
I recommend Norton Antivirus 2007. It doesnt slow down my pc much. They claim to use tighter and shorter codes. But I feel it doesnt tax my pc as much as Norton Antivirus 2006.

If i'm not mistaken, the military does not use any system (i'm not referring to malaysia laugh.gif ). All programs are hand written and encrypted. No windows, but they got firewall. Hand made firewall also... thumbup.gif
