#1 should not post here because the blur is very obvious.. others are a bit too warm with the WB, but composition wise is good..

i like your no.9 pic, good lighting and composition.her black cloth makes her face stands out. try to play more with this colour mood if you can get other composition.for other pics, i think the background is too distracting. potrait photography, i learn one thing. the simpler the better.

Usually, it is not a good idea to shoot with a very bright background. You should meter the background and fill the subject with your flash.

Something is not right with the color, I doubt her real skin tone looks so reddish.

Colors a bit too warm. Try to look for other background as the camera is focusing more on the background than the subject. Do remember that AF looks for vertical lines as reference. The more vertical lines you have, the faster it will focus... on them.

Out of the lot, #9 has the best composition and focus but her top part of the hair are cut off. Should include all the hair into the frame. There are some distracting things behind her, a chair or table maybe. Should remove them.

And with ac98's advise, the 50mm f1.8 is not sharpest at widest but at 1 or 2 stops smaller.

The post you entered in was too short. You must have at least 10 character(s) in your post before it will get posted.

The posing of photo #2 is quite nice as the sun shines on the model, if soft flash could be fired to enhance the skin colour making it looks brighter would be great.
