QUOTE(saitong09 @ Aug 19 2019, 07:01 PM) My Redmi Note 3G had a mediatek in it...and I used the phone happily from 2014-2018. Will keep an open mind as to how this SoC performs if it's on the Note 8.

QUOTE(ckweng @ Aug 19 2019, 07:33 PM) I will certainly hesitate to jump on it, if it's Mediatek. Unless the newer SoC by the company is comparable with Qualcomm's. I read the SoC Helio G90 is more powerful than the SD730 QUOTE(andyng38 @ Aug 19 2019, 08:24 PM) My Redmi Note 3G had a mediatek in it...and I used the phone happily from 2014-2018. Mediatek is not the best, but usable...
If given choice... SD all the way for me

How do I remove the 2nd SIM call button? 1st SIM is for calling. 2nd SIM is for data. Old people using the phone. I don't want to make it complicated

Redmi Note 8 / Note 8 Pro just launched in China! Hold on first if you intend to buy RN7 in the near future.

Getting Started

Hopefully dxomark will test the new Note 8 Pro. My Note 7 with GCam already have superior camera than my old Honor 8.
I considered Mi 9T before but scared the popup camera may not last long.

Call me old-fashioned but I still prefer notch/punch hole front cameras over pop-up ones seen in many newest Chinese models. Going motorised feels like a step backward just to get full-screen display.
Hopefully it's just a temporary trend while a better solution is being developed eg in-screen camera.
