Guys, I'm planning to visit Jogjakarta this month end.

Can anyone please advise whether is it ok to self drive form jogjakarta to borobudur or should I hire a driver?

Also can I rent a car and drive with our malaysia license?

And where should I rent the car? From airport?

Thanks for answering.

IMO
better for you to hire a driver because more comfortable, no need for looking parking area, hop in easy, will get some information about jogja surrounding and reference for other tourism spot

you can't rent a car and driving with malaysia license, you will get troubled with police when you make mistake on the road

or may be you have international license, that's no problem

by the way, does Indonesia has a website to check on the Air pollutant Index (API),
something like the Meteorological Dept of Malaysia ?

noted. thanks for the reply. i thought that Msia and Indonesia had an Asean agreement on domestic driving license. so we can drive in jogyakarta base on this link: http://www.asean.org/news/item/agreement-o...pur-9-july-1985

anyhow i guess we might take your advise to either get a private cab or hire a driver. thanks  smile.gif

ow,,
you can print that agreement and bring it if you planning to self driving , in case if you have problem with local authority you can show it

there is no private cab, they have private charter / car rent with driver or without driver smile.gif
