QUOTE(L.Torreira @ Jan 11 2019, 09:26 AM) 5000mah but drain faster than the 4000mah one. They say redmi note 5AI 4000 mah can last longer than maxpro m2. Used to own Redmi Note 3. From my observation... Xiaomi drains batter slower by over aggressive management of app. The good thing about that is you can conserve battery, but at the expense of missing notifications. When set MIUI not to manage apps... then battery drain same as other manufacturer. |

M2 Pro’s younger brother incoming
https://www.lowyat.net/2019/176423/asus-lau...riced-at-rm699/ Seriously, Asus needs to do something about how they name their phones. I can’t keep track of how many M1s they have already and now M2s... |

I always go for the cheap ver possible....becuz at Rm999 just ad up abit and you can get a better phone already....
As for ram....for now 3gb is enuff already....m2 come with 4gb so i guest its sufficient enuff....if we are talking about future proofing, just think about it....by 2 years u gonna upgrade your phone anyway....so for me future proofing a phone is a bull... QUOTE(meng6689 @ Jan 12 2019, 08:08 PM) Hi, still thinking either 4gb or 6gb ram , any comments? This M2P is targeting gaming usages... So, if we run a lot of games in the background, these games are still running until Android decided to kill any of them due to insufficient memory to run other activities...I consider 6 GB one, but 4 GB more cheap rm 200, Please , really need comments, tq all. Now, if the game is heavily depending on "time-based" algorithm, 6 GB RAM is viable. "Time-based" here means there is a timer in the game to unlock certain level/features before we can continue. Eg. for Asphalt 9, we need to wait for like one hour to refill the "fuel" before proceeding to drive. It's like the developer asking us to take a break for a while... So, if the game failed to be kept running in the memory, the timer will be killed & need to be re-launched again. Don't be surprised that some social media apps (eg. FB, Insta) & shopping apps (eg. Lazada, 11street, Shopee) are consuming a lot of RAM to store pix & short vix in the storyboard or shopping list. More RAM also helps in speeding up app launching. If the RAM is "almost" full, Android will "take a while" to decide which app(s) to be killed first before launching a new one(s). Sometimes "forced-close" scenario may happen during launching an app due to insufficient free-RAM. Lagging in some apps also contributed by lack of RAM. Forced-close & lagging are severely affecting GCam when Night Sight mode is executed (assuming the GCam version is stable built) . Night Sight and HDR+ Enhanced requires a lot of RAM in order to compile and stitch series of pix. But since M2P is running stock Android, the availability of free-RAM is "high". Those skin deep UI like MIUI, EMUI, ZenUI, ColorOS, FunTouchOS, OxygenOS, FlymeOS, etc are "constantly" consuming RAM in the background and cannot be killed by Android system. Hence, that's why these devices are being shipped with more than 4 GB RAM on average. Some will go up to 12GB RAM nowadays... But having lots of apps/activities "constantly" running in the RAM will consume energy too. So, having a 5,000 mAh energy supply will ensure longevity for a least from 6:00am to 11:59pm without a sweat... |

Currently there is a promotion ongoing for Music Player Pro in PlayStore. If anyone here hate the Google Play Music app, it's best to download this now
Then install MusicFX1.4 .apk to enable Snapdragon Audio+ for better audio quality |
