Beach_Boy(R): 5V vs 1.8V, the higher preout rating will basically give a cleaner signal and the current gain settings will be lower. a lower preout rating with a noisy floor would subject unwanted noise in the system as the picked up noise would be amplified too.

personal opinion on pioneer: very compressed type of coloured sound. the 5950IB doesnt even have a 4V preout leh. lowest end from Pioneer offering 4V preout is the DEH-6950IB

o.O 5950 does not have 4V preout? because i checked US's pioneer site, their 5900IB is the same as our 6950, i assume their 4950 should be the same as our 5950(their 4950 has got 4V pre-out)

compressed, and coloured sound(except for their premier range )? no wonder pioneer are loved by many
should i go for the second hand 5421 then around the same price range as well (but cant play MP3 )

you can check Asia Pacific models from pioneer.com.sg. i havent heard the P80's yet but it should sound the same with all pure decks. pioneer is cheaper than alpine and their looks are less ah beng-ish

MP3 playback use the aux in la. thats what i do. 8051 + ipod

as in send to service centre get the HU checked out by their technician. clean the lens, etc. iirc its in shah alam.
