I recently ended my Grab Driver career. Previously had to tear out my tint for front windshield in order to pass the Puspakom e-Hailing inspection. My question is, What is the percentage of tint allowed for me to pass the required inspection to change my car usage back to normal (persendirian)

I'm doing the same thing. (car is 4 years old)
What i did was contact my E-Hailing Company, (via e-mail) and told them i want to cancel my EVP and terminate account. They will at first ask you to come in to physically verify the documents. I told them during these times i dont want to come in to the office. (Covid and the long ass queue). So they forwarded me documents and also a step by step on how to go about it) I filled up their forms and sent it back to them..NEXT

Made an appointment with Puspakom for an inspection under Special Inspection to change vehicle usage (to persendirian)
Once that is done give it a week or 2 before heading to JPJ ( for them to update in system) ( keep in mind the inspection form also has an expiry) (form is called B2)
Head to JPJ with the vehicle amendment form (JPJK8), Puspakom Inspection form(B2) as well as surat pengakuan from E-hailing company stating you stop driving for them. Tell the counter guy you want to "tukar kegunaan".
HOWEVER, this means you have to pay for a totally new road tax and that wont give you a new expiry date. Apparently the road tax for e-hailing is completely different. So if you road tax has alot more months to go, might as well wait till a month or two before expiry before doing the whole process. Mine had 8-9 months to run so was advised by the officer to just wait till close to expiry before submitting the documents and getting a new road tax. ( I had done my puspakom check already before finding out. so i basically rugi RM30 but what the hell...price to pay to learn JPJ bullshit)
So for my case i just cant exercise my E-hailing privileges(dont have the time anyway) until i renew my road tax

hope this helps

Both bro. Manage to secure a part time job. While waiting for my full time job to kick back into gear once pandemic over. Also i find cost to earnnings margin not really worth my time and energy. But then again i didnt really do it morning till night hard core driving. Passengers were all decent though. Nice and understanding(except for a few..ahem...foreigners). Traffic jams are still horrible eventhough expected less people on the road.

Complex situation. I stopped driving for Grab last year. I got their official letter from them. I did my puspakom check to change back to Normal personal usage. But when i went to JPJ they asked me to pay for 1 whole year worth of road tax. I had about 8 months left to my next road tax renewal. So they told me if i want, come back again before road tax expires to change so i can save money. Do i need to do my puspakom check again or can i use the old check result to renew road tax?

Just renew as normal and car inspection. The next expiry a year later send to JPJ cancel EVP, bring along the grab letter change to normal use and final inspection. Done.

Since you are not selling your car, no need to waste the 8 months roadtax validity.
