QUOTE(d-realm @ Jul 10 2019, 11:14 PM) Rumors in facebook, some claim from grab officer. Scenario 1 & 2 very likely. But i think taxi will rage if govt give some concessions to Grab to ease drivers shortage. There re few possibility on Friday 1. Those with PSV n Puspakom can drive. 2. Those registered PSV can drive. even without exam yet. 3. Stick with original plan. Even with PSV but without EVP cant drive. |

QUOTE(andrwss @ Jul 15 2019, 07:07 PM) Sibu, too many drivers, even part timers already have psv here. Thousands registered but daily full time 200-300+. AA 8 hours will get only RM100+- here. So kesian....i will visit Sibu next year and give some business to you guys instead of renting car.How much is the fare from airport to city centre? |

Grab driver robbed by parang-wielding men at JB parking lot NATION Friday, 16 Aug 2019 5:52 PM MYT By VENESA DEVI image: https://apicms.thestar.com.my/uploads/image...8/16/216787.jpg JOHOR BARU: A Grab driver was robbed by a group of masked men armed with parang while sitting in his car in a parking lot here. Seri Alam deputy police chief Deputy Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the incident took place at about 5.20am on Friday (Aug 16) on Jalan Masai Lama in Johor Jaya. “The victim was taking a break in his car at the parking lot when another car with three men on board stopped beside the victim’s vehicle. “The suspects, who were wearing face masks and armed with parang, then approached the victim's car, ” he said in a statement. He added that the victim was then told to hand over his valuables. “They took away his wallet which contained cash and a few important documents as well as two handphones. “A closed circuit television camera (CCTV) captured the incident, and we are currently looking for the suspects, ” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed and gang robbery. He also urged the public to call the Johor police hotline at 07-221 2999 or visit the nearest police station if they have any information about the incident. A four-minute video clip of the incident is making rounds on social media. In my opinion, driving grab as a permanent full time job is not ideal for youngsters due to:-
1) No EPF - A 20 years old young man with RM1000 basic salary with 5% yearly increment + 5% EPF annual return will have RM543K at 55 years old (very low projection). Fresh grad with higher basic easily have millions in EPF at 55.Drive for grab?Big fat zero from grab for retirement 2) No offdays + AL/MC/CL/EL/ - Your income stop when you have to rest or run errands. No time for family 3) Not protected by employment act - Grab can fire you anytime without paying compensation. All they need is a CB rider complaint 4) Unstable earning - No increment, bonus. Your increment depends rain, driver supply, customer demand, etc etc that you dont have control 5) No valuable skill - Driving skill is easily replaceable and plentiful in supply, therefore it doesn't worth much. You may learn some soft skills, how to control your EQ but it's very limited. So my conclusion:- Drive as part timer - Yes Drive to put food on table while waiting for interview - Yes Drive full time coz can't find job at 40 - 60 years old - Yes Drive full time, age below 40 - Please re-consider. If you can consistently put so much effort to drive 12 hours a day for 6 days, you should be able to do well in your job and earn more than grab with less risk.Think long term.
