You are right. Quality of passengers is better and tips are better too.
So there is either a bug in the Crappy software or plain sneaky Grab. Grab support is so very fragmented. I think their software team is bunch of half baked nuts and very likely the third party handling their software could be a cheap Indian outfit. That's not my problem.
Drivers are the backbone of the Grab biz. unless of course they think if one quits there are hundreds out there.

The logic is very simple, any Grab Trolls/Support/Fanboys viewing this take note.

If a riders wants a ride- there are choices already. Just grab $ and available in x min. Grab plus in w min at $$. The rider will have to make the choice. No point getting grabplus driver with just grab rates to drive almost double the distance to pick up rider vs the drop off point.

The hardware is mine and I pay and maintain it. You guys are skimming of 20% off every ride. As a driver I must be in a position to maximise my margins too in a productive manner.
Or are you guys already seen a drop in grab drivers and trying your luck on those still doing a honest business.

CS most of them are language challenged, total waste of time dealing with these duds.

Just to share with you guys. I got many pings with very european names and when I arrived they were mainland Chinese. You call them before arrival ,if they answer you would know , or on chat their reply- if ever they do.Sometimes I see them early enough, sad to say I cancel, especially so if they are not wearing masks. Everytime I pick up and drop off I roll all windows down as well as I spray as well as wipe seats and door handles. All these- adds stress, anxiety not to mentioned costs for me. The pickup pings and fares not attractive either. We are more worse off and exposed than a health care staff. May be I will take a hiatus.

Sell Rasam -piping hot with tumeric and pepper added -keep the virus away. Sure sell out one.

Already seeing a massive drop in rides will probably get worse. But whatever it is we have to stay safe. Grab can't be bothered about driver safety. All text advices are talk only. The driver is in close proximity with the rider and the easiest virus transfer point. These money demons at grab will penalize you when you cancel a ride without giving the driver any options as to why. Continue driving is like a wing and a prayer type of situation.You have to make your own call on this.

Will Grab assume responsibility for the drivers if they become infected?? Damm these Grab buggers looking at bottom line only from their cozy offices.

nothing to think n ponder unless one wants to commit harakiri- a slow one at that and bring a few loved ones along too. It is just too dangerous now.

NYC cabbies more for safety from robbery. Maybe you can try wearing PPE with an integerated independent cooling so that you don't melt and the switch off the aircon with the windows rolled down. Add a squirel cage fan to blast air toward back seats.
Before passenger embarks do a temperature test plus new disposable sheets on the car back seat. disposed after every ride.
Explain the modality of the ride!!.
Only grab pay no cash for the ride.

Grab couldn't care less what happens to you, if you r sick you are immediately removed as a grab driver (read driver disposable)
Their rates Rates stink.
Imagine disinfecting your car a few times a day. If you carry your loved ones -"On a wing and a prayer" as the say.
Frontliners are at least more protected than grab drivers due to PPE.
