1. customer has to pay the toll, funny why grab did not mention big big need to find.
https://www.grab.com/my/transport/car/
under FAQ How does GrabCar charge our fares?

I got one experience pickup lady mapren in which she unhappily asked why need to pay for the toll, coz her other rides no need toll (i think she never pass tru toll before)
i cant find the grab page while driving and need explain to her toll is not included, end up get low rated (of course plus other stuff happen as well). siennnn

2. Not so agree with high fare then self pay, just maximize your income according to system.

Use nego lor. If passenger is familiar with the area, and mention can don't need toll, you can always check the alternative route whether traffic or bad or distance increased. If traffic ok, distance not much different, ok de. Else just explain traffic bad or distance different too much, if they don't want toll have to cancel the ride because driver should just "inform" riders on toll, not giving them an option since the route is calculated based on closest distance. For me if grabpay, i sometimes don't ask (secretly judging if they looked like ppl who will be noisy when go tolls) , but for cash, i always inform before depart.

Example like if go KLCC from sg besi direction at early morning no jam.. sure no need take SMART tunnel lol. Or also if you are an experienced driver, u can go the extra mile for them by bypassing the toll to help them save, telling them also. (of course u need to make sure u don't stuck in jam by doing so )

thanks for the helpful advice for point 2.

but for point 1 i know toll that we pass through from pick up point to drop off point is on the passenger..

what i mean was on the way to the pick up point before fetching the passenger we have to pass through a toll.. like that then how..

i try visit help center, it seems no way to claim for toll in that case.. can only claim for toll IF passenger refused to pay..

i google online check, some say if you pass through toll on the way to pick up point grab will reimburse you..

i also dont know dy now rclxub.gif

ordered a taxi to Melbourne airport

cost me 105 AUD, uber even more expensive at 120 AUD...
journey only 50km to the airport and took about 45 mins to reach..

then think back of malaysia, grab drivers really like lembu only get peanut 65 ringgit and most journey to and from KLIA is more than 50+km..

Taxi limo & other taxi services (pre-Uber & grab) already put premium fare going to and from Klia but ehailing industry make it worst by offering cheap fares. Should at least reduce a little bit only just to attract customers.
*
yes but instead they make it so blardy cheap the fare nowadays, borderline almost not worth it to do KLIA.. worse if the returning trip from KLIA send you to Nilai or whatever ulu place which makes you waste a lot of time because of low chance getting back to back jobs after you dropped them off.. but no choice, money is still money although peanuts..

in Melb you really no choice, like it or not you memang have to order uber/taxi if you're 2 people going with 2 check-in and 2 hand carry.

if you're light traveller then maybe got alternative to go to city with SkyBus (20 AUD/person). But if you're going 2 pax already 40 AUD, might as well order uber/taxi to get to the city, only about 45~50 AUD and get a car to yourself instead of cram in a bus.. so in the end, uber/taxi still the superior choice to go with, hence its understood as a traveller you need to "suck it up" as parts and parcel of travelling lah..

but back here in malaysia, people already complain about 65 ringgit fare, think they pay 65 ringgit like buying some premium service/item lol.. on top of that then most will ask the driver to do "extras" like drop them at their block although they mostly put condo guardhouse as destination, which cost the driver another 1~2km and 10mins extra for that fixed 65 ringgit fare... shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

only borderline? RM65 fare (RM52 after deduct commission, i.e. what you see in your pocket) for 50+ km to the airport from most places in PJ and northern parts of KL. But no matter how cheap....most drivers don't ever put KLIA in their avoid location list.

FYI we also have our own SkyBUS to the airport. only RM 15 (and RM8 if you are a senior 50+ person) from some very popular shopping malls (1 Utama, Paradigm, KL Sentral).
*
uhh yes i know that.. my point was that the SkyBus in melbourne is only good if you are alone 1 person or if 2 person travelling very light (i.e 1 hand-carry luggage/person). if anything more than that you might as well order an uber straight to your destination only..

so with that in mind, people usually travelling to/from melbourne airport already know that they need to spend on uber/taxi..
airport go to city (less than 25 km ONLY) already cost about 40~50 AUD.. airport to other further suburbs, say 50km away will cost about 100~120 AUD already..

but for KLIA, you go where also since the drop off range is so fucking big, still rm65 fixed fare.. but yet people ordering grab always got this mentality thinking their 65 bucks they paying is very big and they deserve to get some premium service, anything less and they unhappy with you..

Nobody touches my phone except me because it stick on to the holder. As for the belts and door handles these are considered the most contaminated areas because it is used touch and go by different riders.  hmm.gif

If the infected riders are in my car, up close and personal enclosed air conditioned ride, I think sure kena  toyota coronavirus despite the mask on. Temples and public celebrations in CHina are also closed to contain the contagion effect. The best is prevention  - avoid public up close contacts whenever possible. Health authorities do not know how bad is the new viral infection and I aint taking chances in one in a million chances to kena..:Updated report till now stand at 50 deaths.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/26/world/china-coronavirus.html  sweat:

That's why when given the Banana for not updating my PSV lesen, it was a blessing in disguise  to have a stress free CNY holiday. Now just awaiting to kena 4D Jackpot.  cool2.gif

Yesterday fare very much drop back to lousy rm1 per km, if weather not too hot still can do few hrs collect back cny spending as the traffic super clear. Some places in kl still not worth to go as the fare cheap and crowd filled by foreigners.
*
yea the fare is cikai like fuck.. the only saving grace is that there's no traffic jam in KV, else its really not worth it.
dont know whether grab purposely adjusted the fare to be lower since they estimate lesser traffic hence we can reach destination much sooner and therefore complete more jobs per hour to cover back the ciput fares..

anyway want to ask you all, since everyone here uses the equation 1km = 1rm as the minimum benchmark of whether we are making any money vs we are doing charity work..

what i would like to clarify is when you all say 1km = 1rm fare as minimum acceptable amount , do you all mean in gross or nett (after deduct 20% comission) fare?

No b2b job, need to wait.

the past 2 weeks very hard to get jobs.

go klia also, peak hours almost empty.. get in the "priority queue" but still took almost 2 hours to get return job compared to instant return job before this..

its the effect of covid19..
