Thanks for feedback, I think I'm going to get Camry after all
Test drove both car yesterday, I think I like the Camry better, feel it suits my driving style better, I've another car for city driving, planning to get Camry only for long distance and if I'm bringing my family
Now it's time to hunt for good car, since all dealers temper the mileage, I think I've to prepare to change suspension n mountings once I buy the car, anything else I should look when looking for 2nd hand car?

Check the mountings. Once start the engine, there should not be engine vibration. Just smooth idling. Take a test drive and check wheel bearings. Camry absorbers is really on soft side. So look out for those ngek3 sound during test drive. Drive train relatively bulletproof. Make sure check gearbox oil have been replaced? At this car age, interior wise if original leather expect some wear. Unless rewrap. One more thing, pre fl camry dashboard tend to melt. Post fl rarely have the dashboard problem.

fuel consumption is actually the best among D segments back in it's days when tested by paultan, the article still on paultan website, it's the best when compare against Camry and teana.
equipment wise 8th accord is quite Spartan even in it's days, didn't even had fc monitoring, Camry had more equipment but mechanically(which is more important to me), it's the last D segments model to have front double wishbones suspension which explains it's exceptional body control and precise steering feedback, everyone's else already using simple McPherson struts

Not all double wishbone perform well. If u take older civic n accord, yes. Very stable for their time. Heck even my innova uses wishbone suspension. Lol. Plus wishbone suspension means more things to fail.

yes dws can be set up for different purposes, can be for higher load handling like pickup truck or innova, or comfort vs handling, dws give wider suspension parameter for vehicle designer to fine tune that's all, it still can be screwed up by designers if R&D sucks
but if given everything the same, dws will perform better than simpler set up, there's a reason bmw fit dws for their 5 series but simpler MacPherson for anything below, high end sports cars mostly still run dws as do F1, they had pull rod dws.
more thing to fail or not, only a test of time can prove that, i haven't touch my suspension component one bit up until now, i believe Toyota hilux or Innova dws are very sturdy as well, but i had to change my civic fd front lower arm(MacPherson) twice before i sold it, same to my 2015 Grand livina which had the both front lower arm replaced under warranty last year just before expiration

Buy from topmark
They are part of Toyota
Which means, buying used car from them gives you the privilege on getting warranty from Toyota and they won't tamper with the mileage.
Do note that they usually price their used Toyota higher than tom dick and harry used car dealers.
Well, you wouldn't mind paying a higher premium for a peace of mind warranty directly from Toyota right?

Went to top mark 222. The salesman said top mark will only provide for wqrranty used toyotas if it is less than 10 years old and with the odometer reading less than 100k.

Yes, their cars are slihhtly expenaive than outside, around rm 5k to 7k more expensive but they dont tamper the mileage reading.

Not all used car dealers tamper with their mileage reading. With sharp eyes and the right attitude, there are ways to know if a car have been tampered with the mileage reading.

Things you need to do when u get a used camry acv 40 /41.
1. Change engine oil
2. Change automatic transmission oil
3. Check the radiator top, see if it has changed from black color to grey, if it is grey color, replace the top , if not it will crack and leak coolant.
4. Service the air cond. Most owners dont service their car air conds. It is a typical malaysian attitude.
5. Check the brake pads
6. Check the suspension, replace the absorbers. A car with 100k on the meter reading will need to have the absorbers replaced.

99% used car will have mileage tampered. Unless its genuinely buy and park at home (weekend car, or use LRT more to commute)..
You can guesstimate the actual mileage based on service history if you have the records from TSC, mine from used car also tampered with

Yes. Most used car will tempered the mileage. Once I help my buddies to select this 2nd altis from used car. The used car altis full spec was put 50k km mileage for 4 y.o.

Get the plate no to toyota sc as toyota was declared last services was at 150k km. Luckily not purchase it.
