Dear all

At which week baby needs to be lock at correct position?

My gynae said by week 30, baby's head needs to be down south

I check with other mummies, some said at week 22, 24, 34,

What is your opinion and experience?

Any advise for me on sleeping positions that would probably help me adjust my baby to the correct position ?

Or any other methods?

Thank u

About 34-35 weeks, but some people only turn by the final weeks. Mine turned at 34.

I have a friend who's baby turned at around 30 weeks but after that pop back up, so she ended up with c-section.

Good info!

I have a friend who's baby turned around 30 but after that pop back up, so she ended up with c-section.

Advise I got from antenatal talk is to place music at your leg end. According to the doctor, baby will search for the music source and turn his head towards the direction. Easier to do at night on the bed.

My own gynae recommended some sort of cat pose. On your knees, place your elbow on the yoga mat and put your forehead on the floor/mat. At first I don't understand, so after searching youtube it's like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hXFRrdr0CQ

I did both and my baby turned last week (week 34).

35 36 weeks around there.

but even if the fetus doesn't turn, obstetrician can perform external cephalic version to force the turning of the fetus provided there isn't any contraindication to perform it and there is consent from the patient.

so just relax and enjoy. no need to worry.

Depends on the size of your baby, diameter+thickness of the sack, and the Amount of your amniotic fluid. For big size baby+normal volume of AF+normal sack, should be turn around 24-26weeks. Medium baby+normal AF+normal sack, mostly at 30-32 weeks, small baby + normal AF+normal sack up to 36 weeks. Your OB will opt for ECV if everything is normal and your baby still in breech position And Caesarean as The back up plan.

What if baby at 3 or 9 o'clock during the moment? Don't think so can unless baby not too far off from 6 o'clock

How is your sleeping positions?

I've only been sleeping side ways and not sure if anyone sleep other positions other than side ways? Because my gynae advise to sleep side ways, so ever since he mentioned it, I've been sleeping side ways.

Before I was pregnant, I sleep prone position

Baby position don’t matter.
Lying sideways is better because easier for the pregnant lady to breathe and less compression of the umbilical artery leading to better blood flow for baby.

Never trust a internet doctor.

Trust your doctor; if you dont, change one that you have confidence with.

My colleague almost 8 months pregnant said that she sleeps straight up with lots of pillows and not side ways.

Her baby is already in correct position.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll continue to sleep side ways 😅

meh.......

for some it is to experience it.

generally there's more pros than cons for normal delivery.

but in general........you don't really get to decide on whether you are allowed to have normal delivery or not.

having a normal delivery after history of c-section have the slight risk of uterine scar rupture.......doctors will be on lookout for that.

exactly my point.

as pointless as somebody asking, i do not want any paracetamol or i do not want vaccine.

c-sec is not a choice. its a lifesaving option.

yeah........you can actually refuse medication or vaccine.........no problem.

c-sec also can refuse by patient and husband after counseling..........doctors will just document down the details properly and have the patient sign.
whatever consequence doctors will not be responsible lo.

patients have the power of consent or not to give consent.

Ahh.. let’s having positive mind that he/she is in good health and enough nutrition. That’s why it’s big/tall. I read that u already try the “cat pose” biggrin.gif biggrin.gif keep it up, and talk to your baby, tell her/him that she/he needs to change his position smile.gif hope it’s work. If you are still confused and in limbo with your OB for ECV/caesarean method, get second opinion from senior Male OB. ECV are considered low risk, but as a mom you deserves to have a peaceful mind and be happy, knowing you are at the right hands. Good luck 😉
