The good news is that Xiaomi is adding support for more and more non-Aqara or Mijia devices. For example the next firmware will add the Mi Honeywell Smoke Sensor. Actually they released and then pulled back that firmware last week. I already have the smoke sensor so just waiting for the proper firmware release.

Unfortunately I don’t think any of camera products work with HomeKit yet.

Yes, initially started using Aqara app. That time Mi Home no support for Homekit. Later switch to Mi Home and using that since. Mi Home has other benefits like being able to work with the rest of the Mijia ecosystem even though most of those products can't be added to Homekit.

Seems to be OK for me, very responsive. Aqara/Xiaomi Devices - Aqara Hub - Mi Home - Homekit. Using Siri on my phone to, say, turn on a wall switch (light). Estimate 250-500ms response. Same for motion sensors. I get a notification on my iPhone almost instantly. I did a video of the lights. Later will go count the exact response time.

Maybe too many devices on your Aqara hub? I only have 23 using the Aqara hub.

3. 1x aqara switch (this one for testing purpose, if work then i can change all switches in my room)

I saw you have fan in your control list, do you use Aqara 3 rockers D1 switch to control your fan? is that normal celing fan?
i have 2x 3 rockers wall switch and 1x  2 rockers switch (not D1) installed in my home, 3 of them connected with 1 fan and others with florescent light, 3 rockers wall switch will burnt off and smoke coming out from it when 3 connected devices all switch. But 2 rockers wall switch safe.

Answer from the seller (TMALL- China) told me that this switch cannot connect with ceiling fan.
