every SC practices such act but short distance is fine(maybe to test the car after service)
but 1.5 is not only unacceptable, it's also unethical
this is why i recommend every car owner to have a dash cam in their car, u can catch all sort of BS thing in the process laugh.gif

2 other things that is a common SC ppl and workshop ppl's practice that i cannot accept
1. pull my handbrake to full
2. deliberately adjust my a/c temp to the lowest and put the fans to very high(AND DON'T even have the courtesy to adjust it back) = are u so cold until u need to do that?

But they can just easily unplug
*
ppl nowadays started to wire it to the battery
particularly company vehicle where they don't want the staff to unplug it
if originally came with the car, it's not plugged into the cigarette port

sure there is a connector at the cam , if not how to run.the wiring with the dashcam attached

worst come to worst they just take out the memory card then lather dunno put where
*
depends on model
some does, some don't
if they really unplug or remove memory card, that means they're up to something...i will question the staff for answers
i will also send the video to HQ

Nowdays most dashcams comes with a separate micro-USB or mini-USB to USB/Fuse-tap as power cord; if the SC peeps are smart enough, they'll unplug the dashcam before starting the car, then plugging it back in once they're done with their "shady businesses".

Another way to catch them was to reset your ODO before you send your car for service (though they would/might reset the ODO before passing the car back to you as well laaa). From the mileage you're able to determine where they'd taken your car for a spin (typically SC would drive for about 4km below for testing only).
*
that make sense too, using the ODO method
another way is, when send to SC, turn the dashcam to face the driver brows.gif

In theory yes, but for Malaysian market its too small to even bother them. Remember what happened to volkswagen, toyota and so on? Protest, write in etc. Until today nothing happens. Business as usual.

i know abt VW, that one cannot be fixed
what abt toyota?

Just search for toyota complain threads in lowyat itself. So many threads about their service. At the end of the day still business as usual.
