Spider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseMy review, spoiler-free (unless you click on them).
What a ride.
It starts out quite expository and then slowly builds up to the whole spider variants/multi-versal thing. And once that happens, phew, it is an almost non-stop ride.
Bear in mind this is Part 2 of 3, so there are plenty of loose plot points (and characters) that might get closure in the 3rd part.
The animation is absolutely wild. In fact, it can get "too wild" to the point you may not be able to discern what's on screen - - for me it is not a problem, since my seat was right at the back.
Funny enough, I felt this might be a problem to some and it indeed does occur:
https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/is-acro...viewers-to-see/So be warned, if you're photosensitive, you might need to take a break or avert your eyes (or worse case, skip the movie).
Clocking it at around 2 hours 10min-ish, once the movie picks up the pace, as mentioned it is quite a relentless ride.
I don't know how or what else to comment without spoiling too much, but let's just say you do get a nice dose of "multiversal Spideys" though it still comes to just a few at the forefront (with regards to contributing to the main plot points).
The music is upbeat and highly stylized just like the animation style, and the voice acting is absolutely stellar. Oscar Isaac completely nailed the character of Miguel O'Hara. And the suit, damnn.... looks cool AF.
Big questions and probably something on your mind - - is Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland involved in the film in any capacity?

Yes. Well, in the Earth-928 where hundreds of Spider-Man variants exist, I did see what looked like Raimi's Spider-Man suit. Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appear in the movie - - BUT, as footage from their respective films. No new live-action parts were filmed for their characters as far as I know. J.K. Simmons though seemed to have recorded brand new lines as the beloved J. Jonah Jameson.
New Live action parts (
super spoilery):

That is Donald Glover as Prowler

We also have Mrs Chen from Venom (apparently this was in a promo/trailer? I didn't see it or I must have intentionally skipped the last trailer/promo

So yeah, there's some crazy stuff that goes on. If you're into this kind of Marvel flick, you are in for an absolutely amazing time. There are also plenty of references to the Spider-Man comics which I'm sure article sites are already on it by the dozens.
It does end with "To be continued"
This one gets a really good
9/10 from me. I really wish we saw more Spidey variants in action especially the crazier ones (you won't believe some of them!) + since this is part 2, the ending is a bit anti-climatic but overall, an amazing experience.
