Most welcome. Getting a non-local set fixed at an AASP here really depends on luck though. Some people shared in the past after they got rejected by the AASP, they wrote an email to Apple and then Apple will provide assistance to instruct the AASP to proceed.

If you open the Sim tray and shine a light into it and don’t see any red color that means your unit is still Ok. The liquid contact indicator is a very tiny white or silver thing that’s hard to see if it’s not red.

Saw a lot from YouTube videos, they probably put inside water to wash in tap water still not an issue.

But in reality how come so easy to get in water 😂

Apple products : iPad, watch and iPhone all cover as local warranty.

Except the macbooks or iPod only or some accessories

SG Telcos set must be send back to telcos, IF buy from SG ONLINE apple store can exchange one to one.

For hk set can claim in apple orchard outlet, they can handle to claim for you.

If buy from Qoo10 T&L then send back to Msia T&L for HK set with dual sim.

Yes, so buying an imported set from a reputable seller is crucial in case anything goes wrong and if the AASPs here refuse to repair your unit. You can then go back to the seller as a last resort.

sg telco sets no need to send back to telco if got problem. in fact, sg telco will ask you to go to apple service centre for any program immediately once you checked and signed off the receipt of the phone.
nowadays sg telco does not handle any iphone problems. anything go to apple service centre.

only difference for those who bought from apple online sg, within 14 days can request for one-to-one exchange for any issues.

I don't think so they need any receipt.
Can chat with Apple helpdesk or go online booking in QCD at wheelock place.
I did my repair Iphone 6S before at QCD for screen came in live dirt bug.

i think u misread my post. the 'receipt' does not refer to the receipt.

receipt
/rɪˈsiːt/Submit
noun
1.
the action of receiving something or the fact of its being received.
"I would be grateful if you would acknowledge receipt of this letter"

I bought HK sets for both my Xr and my wife’s Xs Max from a seller on Qoo10 namely T&L Telecom. If touch wood I bump into any issues I’d bring the sets to their office in KL. So yeah, if you’re buying imported sets from online platforms, make sure they are reputable sellers and it helps if they have a physical store and can at least promise you seller’s warranty, like buying other imported phones from other brands.

Yes it is biggrin.gif

The upside is it’s cheaper and I have dual physical sim. No need to wait for our telcos eSIM nonsense...

iPhone XR - a month later

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

So all in all, I'm very happy with the Xr and I agree with most reviewers - it's the best value to performance for an iPhone in the market right now (note that I said iPhone and not phone).

And terima kasih if you took the time to read this whole post!

I think this one should be on first page. Its the same thing i thought for XR. I suggest to all my fren and relative to upgrade their phone to go for XR.

Since my journey with Apple started since iPhone 2g,3G,4 and 6 and the xr now all of the phones lasted at least 2 years without any issue. So, for me I wouldn't mind where I buy them. But of course only the 2g was a non local set
