How was the process?
Did you have to contact apple china/hk or just apple us first to discuss on the device replacement?
*
Well....bit complicated the process.
1.Chat to apple advisor in apple.com
2. Remotely diagnosis and detect the fault, get a case report number.
3. Refer me to the nearest switch apple service center.
4. Walk in and told them the issue and case report number
5. On the spot did a second diagnostic and detect the ambient light sensor faulty causing the problems and drained out the battery fast, also Face ID malfunction
6. Submitted the faulty set to them and of coz with term n conditions.
7. Wait for replacement set arrived ( of coz will b MY set)
8. 7 working days got my new claimed set, same color and capacity storage.

That’s all. Of coz I mentioned mine was HK dual sim version and they remind me if apple requests for the purchase receipt I need to give them.
I lie the set was purchased in HK and lost the receipts, hahaha.
Actual I’m taking the risk if they won’t recognize my claimed set then I’m doomsday and they will return the set with chargers.

Recently got my XR, iOS12.2, battery behaving good. May I know normally XR took how long to fully charge? Mine seems quite long though, like 2 or 3 hours+? I always charge at night, then set an alarm to wake up to turn charging off to avoid overnight charging. Not sure if this is the best way to protect the battery health.

depending on the power output of ur charger. If it is high and again slower charge actually means good thing that ur battery capacity is high still.

Im using the original apple 5w charger and it took more or less the same hours like urs, but if using wireless charging dock it took more longer time to complete the100% charge.
I dont like fast charging, it seems can damage the battery. Im not sure this theory is correct or not. Just my thinking........... whistling.gif

Yes very right, fast charge will heat up the battery much more than normal 5w, and the heat will harm the batt in long run, hence the shorter life span..

just use ipad 10w or 12w charger to charge. cheap option that gives decent 'fast' charging.

Emm, not that I noticed. It feels normal after the updates. Even with XR, I dont have to worry to bring aloong a cable to chargee it in the vehicle. Even using waze (which do drain alot of battery power), the phone still have enough to last me for the night.

Since I got mine in mid Jan, I decided that charging using wirelessly. My unit is Rock brand wireless pad coupled to a 12W ipad charger and rock's propriety flat cable. So far so good and just checked my battery performance still at 100%. Its so convienient by not having any power cable plugged in the phone. The best thing I find with the XR is that, I can use it all day without the worry of needing to charge it. So long as I leave the house full charged I am good for the day. Seldom I see the dreaded yellow/red bar at the battery icon nowadays.

Or you could get one those third party cables with auto disconnect when the battery is full, which is what I'm doing.

Mine also still 100% since November last year. Just recently jailbreak and able to see the battery charge cycle. Expecting battery health to drop soon.
