Sorry if this has been discussed before, since the Boost wallet size is RM1500, if I top up more than 1500, will it be rejected?
*
the app will show you an error message.

Hello I want to ask how u all pay the unifi mobile (postpaid) using boost? Because it is 9digit instead of 10 digit from normal unifi broadband.

Thanks
*
unifi mobile (telco postpaid)'s billing is with webe digital sdn bhd, subsidiary of TM.

boost payment to unifi (fiber/streamyx/voice) is by TM

both are separate billing system, not yet converged/integrated/migrated.

Boost offers 3 type of services, (1) e-money transfer (2) cash-out to bank account (3) payments

(1) You can transfer e-money (Boost credit) from your Boost account to another Boost account, eg to your spouse, kids, siblings, friends, tuition teachers. It replaces real money. They can use the e-money at (2) and (3).

(2) Transfer e-money to Bank account. For credit card users, they can play top up -> cash out to get CC reward/rebate. For debit cards, quite limited. I assume you get Zero reward/rebate from your bank.

(3) [a] Bill payments: Unifi/TM, Celcom, Indah Water, Astro, Syabas, PTPTN etc
(3) [b] Retail payment: Shell, Tesco, Giant, KK Mart, 99speedmart, Mydin, Watsons, Alpro, Isetan, Nando's, KFC, PrestoMall (11street), Taobao (RevPay) and many more.

For (3) you will be given a token of appreciation, aka "Shake Reward", a cashback given at random amount, can be 0 - 50% but now hardly reach 2%. Some users may look for "Missions" at the App to earn more cashback, eg "Pay Any Bill RM400" to get +RM5 extra CB, "Scan & Pay RM300" to get +RM4 extra CB. On Boost Online day (usually on the 8th of the month), 30% special cashback on some online stores (eg 8/7, Mr DIY online store, Taobao). Occasionally Boost come out with some attractive promotions, eg Shell - spend RM40 to get RM5 CB, Giant - spend RM50 to get RM8 CB, 100% CB on Unifi, 100% CB on Indah Water.

by asking those questions above, i was curious to find out what user profile that fit/slipped in and what are Boost's business agenda.

holy enough to ask a reality check question that weirdly pissed someone off.
*
do a survey and scope down the choices so that you can profile them.

I have 2 under my name, 1 from my sister and another from my wife. A modest number compared to some people here, but just to show that its more convenient for heavy users to be allowed to spend more than just $4,500. Or the very least, have a tier system like GrabPay or Samsung Pay that rewards loyal and active users.
*
boost purposely limit it such way.

in actual fact, the BNM approved wallet size is rm5k for Boost biggrin.gif

they just don't open up fully. probably to manage heavy (ab)users or has other plans in the future (maybe digital banking later)

everyone same limit now.

Duly noted.
I'm actually venting out a bit since none of my Boost account could be verified. Nonetheless, hopefully there will be some plans for Boost to introduce membership tiering system.

At this point, users aren't exactly loyal to one particular eWallet. Its either personal preference or whichever that offers the most incentives.
*
yes. that's the battleground we're in now.

those with deep pocket will sure survive longer, and we're just pawns in their game to create new market.

quite unhealthy because bnm doesn't dictate specific rules on ewallet. they are only given guidelines to follow and submit to bnm for review and approval.

PLUS aims to go cashless at all its rest areas

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...its-rest-areas/

GEORGE TOWN: PLUS Malaysia Bhd is targeting for all its rest and service areas (RSAs) in the country to go cashless by end-2020 .

Chief commercial officer Christine Liew told StarBiz that PLUS was currently working with Visa, Boost e-wallet and other credit card companies to achieve the objective.

How are they gonna solve the charges that will be imposed on the smaller merchants by the bank?

It's easy for these smaller merchants to accept e wallets since the MDR will be either none or just like a little, but as for cards, it's gonna be more than that right?

But it's a good initiative, I enjoyed the experience when I was in R&R at Ayer Keroh.
*
that's the conundrum when going cashless.

merchants are being onboarded by boost/banks, then have to bear the MDR

unless these fees are subsidized by PLUS by offsetting from the rental? just guessing. sweat.gif

also, most small merchants/traders are reluctant to go cashless due to transparency (sales value, volume, traffic). unless PLUS has no view of the merchant's transactions and sales value, then OK. if the merchant onboarding is tied to PLUS (as master merchant), then PLUS has overall view to all its participating merchants/traders in the R&R locations.

Thanks. I did see KelantanPay' site earlier, just thought maybe they will restrict it to bills whose addresses are in Kelantan but I guess forummers interpret it differently. Anyway, from Asrin's post, still no TNB payment.

kelantanpay already stated coming in Aug.
