Tried top up using AMEX, it requires OTP?

Is this normal? I read somewhere got people kena fraud after doing this  sweat.gif

I used Big Pay, it only requires PIN.
*
wrong concept

otp is sent by the issuing bank.

in bigpay, you sure dont need enter OTP to reload too?

Yes. I top up boost RM20 few days ago by using bigpay. It required pin only.
*
QUOTE(Incarnation @ Mar 16 2019, 09:59 AM)
Yes, I tried using BigPay top up RM10 only requires fingerprint or PIN, whereas AMEX RM1k requires OTP.

Is it depends on the amount?
*
i was referring to bigpay app itself.

for boost app itself...

if you are reloading from a SAVED card in boost, yes no need OTP because it's already been saved.

if you are reloading from a NON-SAVED card in boost, still need OTP first. subsequent reload, will bypass the 3D and go straight to 2D (non-OTP).

try this, after your 1st reload with amex, try reload again. need PIN or OTP?

Hmm If I top up few hundreds to 1K, it will paid to BOOST APP 3D-EC (with OTP), whereas below RM100, it will paid to BOOST APP SSL-EC (without OTP) hmm.gif
*
i suppose coincidentally, your 1st reload is new card to boost, so it will need OTP (3D transaction). then 2nd reload is <rm100 (card saved in boost), hence will be without OTP (non-3D aka 2D).

with the card still saved, you can try again with amount >rm100, see if you need OTP again.

QUOTE(BlacBeanz @ Mar 16 2019, 01:52 PM)
When register AMEX card to topup boost will be charged RM4? is this refunded back to us?
*
rm4 is preauth amount, purposely charged to the new card. it will be "released" back without you noticing it in your cc statement.

QUOTE(prosibu @ Mar 16 2019, 02:55 PM)
How we add money from non-saved credit card?
I cant find any option in boost
*
no way.

1st time always a non-saved card lor. then the card is auto-saved into boost.

alternate way, remove the card after reload. then next time you reload, will be from "non-saved" card lor. of course you will always get the rm4 preauth charge, but no big issue for cc reload.

Encountered the same issue when I tried to update my Streamyx/Unifi.. Updated the account successfully when I chose Telephone bill instead.

Is there anyway I can remove the Unifi & Streamyx left in my account? I tried but no way to remove them - eyesore to me!
*
just remove them lor

in Bills and Payment, tap the "Pencil" icon on the top-right.

in the listing, swipe-LEFT on the saved account which you named (NOT the bill icon, but the one below). you will see a RED "bin" icon to remove the saved bill account.

For me, the 1st reload on the same day right after adding the card would require OTP (not talking about the RM4 pre-auth). If I were to reload on the next day, no OTP required for the 1st reload. However, for subsequent reload on the same day, OTP was required again.

Btw, for those having problems with reloading Boost using BigPay, was OTP required? For those that managed to reload, was OTP required? Please share your experience.
*
odd arrangement for otp.

for boost reload using bp, I just did. only pin/fingerprint. no otp required.

Sorry , I don't consider as stupid question sir .

I will good if we can confirm it into installment with zero interest and just pay rm2 😂😂.

Then if you cash out twice pay rm4, you get RM 2996 and divide into 12 months repayment for zero interest .

Does it sound good ?
*
convert to installment is by transaction, not total cumulative amount in your statement <- only BT allow you to do that.

you are not being specific to get a proper answer.

It's actually possible to convert outstanding into installment,  not only by transaction, but multiple transactions. Outstanding meaning transactions recorded, but before it's included inside monthly statement.

Example is the Hong Kong Bank Flexi payment 0% interest 12 month ( by invitation for selected customer only)
*
hong kong bank? can share the link or t&c?

very likely they changed their payment gateway, and now forcing ppl to re-add again.

this way, card saved thru their old gateway are purged and new cards added are saved by the new gateway.

this is also why the new gateway offer the amex biggrin.gif

sorry guys, just wanted to ask.

If we withdraw RM1500 from Boost to our bank account, we will only getting RM1498 right? RM2 for the admin fee.

Can we use Maybank Amex's to Top up RM1000 (gain 5% during the weekend) and Standard Chart Liverpool card to Top up RM1500 (gain 3.33%). Without spending anything, we can just take RM48 Ringgit from Boost monthly from each card?
*
why take out rm48 from each card? laugh.gif

dont forget boost' tightened policies is the users' own doing (indirectly) and boost's as well.

1) boost - doing too many campaigns until system/operational haywire. i believe this has been highlighted here.

2) users - due to boost's aggressive campaigns and unstable nature, user's experience jeopardized, unsatisfied, demanding fix/resolution and of course the usual threat to escalate to BNM.

and guess what, the more complaints reaches BNM, the more BNM asking questions to Boost about their lack of support, policies, enforcements, etc. Not to forget the publicized fraud case.

so now, Boost gotta respond back to BNM with "enhanced" policies, securities, enforcements, etc.

end of the day, what goes around comes around.

Its true. Red-eyed users who failed to get cb went n challenged boost till BNM involved as they see others getting cb while they didnt. They will feel happy if boost close shop.
*
sadly that's the situation.

bnm gives some certain leeways for emoney issuers to offer their products and solutions, but their expectation in return is proper compliancy and due diligence (e.g. risk management, fraud management, SLA, fund movement, etc)

good if Boost can come out the function like TnG e wallet where credit less than certain amount then auto reload through CC

find kinda troublesome right now need to manually reload everytime
*
it may require certain approval from bank (technically auto-reload with 2D) and sometimes even BNM! doh.gif

bank doesnt like merchants to use 2D as there is a lot of fraud and risk management to monitor. unless boost team has a strong system and policies to safeguard their transactions, banks would likely conditionally-approve it.

this is a chicken-and-egg situation: convenience vs security
