if an application is reviewed by human, then there will be variation/subjective in assessing the requirements. perhaps there is certain threashold % which will allow it to go thru? perhaps there are other reasons? perhaps income is lower than min req., but there are other areas which the approver deem reasonable? we dont know the exact policies.

statements from your friends may not apply equally to EVERY banks out there. each has their own assessment policies and risk assessment.

when telling this to newbies, be careful on the information shared out.

you still pay the SST for the unactivated card.

before cutting the card, you SHOULD TERMINATE the card first. physically cutting the card is just formality.
