U can learn those on ur own, i guess laugh.gif

Getting the instrument might b a bit costly..
Might cost u a a few thousand, m not sure bout flute coz only know prices for trumpets n saxaphone laugh.gif

try out the fife 1st then... less than rm40 only... same technique as the flutes... move on to silver flutes n piccolos later on...

coz i saw one with that price tag 6 months ago?

edit: but i'm not sure about the quality and tune though, couldn't test in that store tongue.gif

Aint sure either..I never had interest in playing the piano nor the guitar nor the violin..My friends do but not me.I am not really sure abt trumpets lol

piccolo's fingering is the same as it's friend the big silver flute,
the difference is the price and tune, piccolos sound a lot sharper

and to answer your question, i learn when i joined my school band err... 7 years ago, i learned for free since it's a school band

fifes are fine for starters... since dats wad we do in our band... only the seniors get to 'upgrade' to silver flutes or piccolo... i'll post a pic later on...

(waiting for my fren to send me the pic... i play the sax, not the flute)

Was wondering, does d piccolo has beginner types juz like trumpet?if it does have, then get d beginner one, n shud b cheaper, i guess tongue.gif

a sample of the exact fife we use in our band... imagine it as the recorder (used in primary school music lessons), but being played horizontally n has more octaves than it...

it has a lower pitch then the silver flute n piccolo
