I have a "firewall" by virtue of NAT running on the router. I've not run an antivirus on the Mac since I switched to OSX in 2002 or in System 7/8/9 before that.

QUOTE(tishaban @ Jun 8 2007, 04:26 PM) I have a "firewall" by virtue of NAT running on the router. I've not run an antivirus on the Mac since I switched to OSX in 2002 or in System 7/8/9 before that. I never install any Antivirus for any of my Macs for the past 6 years. Needn't to waste $$ for such application. For firewall, I just use the OSX built-in firewall plus the NAT in my Airport Extreme Base Router. |

i don't install antivirus
BUT... I think you can install to scan those documents and files you obtained from outside sources, then making sure that what u copy to other ppl is virus free. That's one of the better use of antivirus on mac machines I guess... |

u need it coz nowadays some applications are from microsoft.. ie ms office.. maybe it can spread from docs to docs.. regardless of the OS. but i dunno.. creating virus for windows are more fun i think coz of huge customer based.
