How much is the salary they offer for you?

Anyone heard of  Portfolio Reconciliation team in HSBC?

Job Scope:
1. Ensure trade data is downloaded from ALGO into Tri Resolve on the correct day.
2. Reduce all pending breaks to zero by approving and applying break root causes.
3. Investigate all unmatched trades applying breaks and liaising with internal product areas to obtain confirmations etc.
4. Investigate and resolve MTM differences by liaising with Product control and external counterparties.
5. Create portfolio reconciliation summaries and communicate to Margin managers.
6. Ensure >90 day breaks are investigated and resolved.
*
hi, just want to let you know that I finally found out what that job scope means after working for a month haha. I'm actually in that department but in a different team. Its in the Collateral Management team and that dept is the Client Portfolio Reconcilliation. I was supposed to be in that team but my VP shifted me to a different dept but still under the same team

Hi Everyone,

How is the career advancement working as a GSE (back-end operation) in HSBC yaaaaa????????
Possible to work for a year and then jump to another department? or into the bank?
*
From what I understand, there is definitely room for career advancement. I know of a few colleagues who made moves within the back end departments. As for into the bank, i'm not quite sure about this.

Hope that helps

turnover is considered a bit high also. most of my colleagues are working here for 2 years or less. only last week 2 people already left

GSE is your job title, Back end processing is your general job scope icon_rolleyes.gif

That was sad news.

Why are you still staying?

Loving it? happy.gif

Ecstatic when you mentioned Back End Processing (BEP)

I hated answering calls happy.gif

During my phone interview, they kept asking about Customer Service etc.

Hope I got the BEP role.

*
Ahahaha, one month in already wanna quit. that would be too fast for me tongue.gif

BEP is just as good. you will learn a lot smile.gif one and a half month here still got sooo much to learn.but the work culture here is pleasant, everybody very willing to help you out if got problems.

One month already?
Pretty good happy.gif
CYB or KL?
Can we choose location or they chose it for us?
How long was the waiting from your 2nd interview with the Manager until first day at work?

*
yup. so far so good smile.gif

KL branch. yeah we can. I remember on the phone interview the hr ask me why i dont want cyber since cyber also got transport and everything and i told him KL is more fun than CYB and he laughed!

my interview with the manager was on the same day as my 1st interview with hr. I was the earlier batch that came to the interviews so the manager interviewed me 1st. It was on tuesday sept 4.

i got the call saying i got the job on friday sept 7 the same week! so fast! after that i was rushing for medical exam and everything cos i had to collect the offer letter the next week wednesday sept 12th

i was supposed to start on the 4th october but for some reason the hr kept pushing my start date earlier, so i started on the 20th sept thursday instead

so for me everything was extremely rushed!! rclxub.gif

What is your working hours?
Have own transport?

*
that was the only good thing about it

i work 4pm-1am

i dont have transport, so i rely on the hsbc transport for the time being while i arrange to get a car of my own

will you be based in kl or cyber if hired?

Wah!

How do you went home at 1am?

HSBC buses/van pick you up at <where> in KL?

Then drop you off at <where> nearby your home?
On the phone, the interviewer mentioned Customer Service..then GSE.
Did not mentioned CYB or KL but I think I heard she said GSE at CYB.
I prefer KL though.

*
hsbc kl provides transport services if your shift ends after 11pm because they know its hard to find transport at the time

they will pick us up right outside the stock exchange building to certain dropoff points that is as close to your home as they can provide. the only negative thing is that i have to trouble my parents to pick me up after they drop me off at 1.30-1.45 am. So that's why im thinking of getting a car already.

you can tell the hr you want kl branch during the interview.be a bit stubborn la, say that kl branch nearer to home, etc.they need new people to join the company so i think they might place you in kl.

where is your interview by the way? kl or cyb?
