Well the speaker isn't something to shout about, really. Worst still, it performs badly when you turn on loudspeaker because the speaker fires to the back. doh.gif

@Christyn, you may use it as an mp3 player (in fact that's the secondary use of my Touch; get a 4GB SDHC and you're all set biggrin.gif ). But just try to refrain yourself from listening music through the "dreadful" loudspeaker doh.gif

You can get a 2GB Micro SD for around RM80 from LYP. I got my Kingston 4GB Micro SDHC few days back from LYP too, for RM195 smile.gif They have Sandisk 4GB Micro SDHC too (with a lower price tag, I think around RM170 only), but do note that Kingston's 4GB is Class 4, whereas Sandisk is Class 2 (Class 4 writes at 4MB/sec, Class 2 writes at 2MB/sec). Well worth the extra RM30 smile.gif

As for the apps, it depends on what you plan to install actually. So far the biggest application in my Touch is Microsoft Office Mobile 2007 (around 60MB) and I installed it in my storage card. The rest of the apps like games and other small apps do not take up much of your space. To be frank my 4GB card has 1GB of free space left, as my mp3s occupied most of it blush.gif

Psst... I have more than 1000 songs in my Touch now! laugh.gif

i just need the necessary ones like MSn, internet browser, etc, not much actually.

smile.gif MSN messenger is already bundled together with the Touch, you don't have to install it. Besides, you have an IE in your Windows Mobile too.

So basically you just install other apps into your card, and load it with lots and lots of movies and songs! icon_rolleyes.gif

Nah, that triangle is there after I enabled global roaming. If not I cannot use my phone when I'm at Ho Chi Minh doh.gif

I like the new Today screen too, but I like the "New" screen the most. Wonder why did HTC omit this useful feature on the Touch @.@"

normally i'll just use the Touch Keypad input smile.gif The original Keyboard is not bad, but normally I'll revert to Keypad when I'm on the go.

ur keypad its original sftware in htc touch rite?
then maybe considering to get htc touch!

Unfortunately nope, the original Touch ROM only comes with QWERTY virtual keyboard. The "Touch Keypad" is a new feature of Touch Dual, but it can be ported to original Touch smile.gif

How to port? The biggest resource is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/

Hi all..

Just want to ask something regarding the HTC Touch.. After that salesperson set up my device, the calender days are written in Chinese and the dates are according to the Chinese method as well.. as in: 07-11-5 instead of 5-11-07

How can i set it to the English menthod? Appreciate the help.............
*
Do you have any chinese processing application like CE Star running? I suspect the salesperson might have sold you a Chinese set, or flashed to Chinese ROM. Can you post your firmware version?

You may check it at Start -> Setting -> System tab -> Device Information smile.gif

that is a Sprint-customised Touch. Not available in Malaysia.

isn't that a Touch Dual? From its spec sheet it comes with keyboard and no wi-fi.

it does improves performance in some ways... e.g. you can run more programs concurrently without the annoying "low memory" warning wink.gif

new colour? and upgraded version? OMG! i want it.
but i kind of heard that the production of HTC touch will end by end of 2007. is it true? because they said HTC want to promote their improved HTC touch which is the touch dual. the new model which i dont really like. i hope they will continue producing touch with the upgraded ram and all~
*
They might discontinue the original Touch to give way to Touch Enhanced (basically its still the same Touch but with twice the ROM and RAM of the original Touch).

Moreover there's a forumer selling Touch for RM19xx and Touch Enhanced for RM19xx too, so I guess the original Touch will be history very soon; what's left is Touch Enhanced and Touch Dual. smile.gif

I tried to flash the rom n its ok.but when i try to change the screen theme suddenly i see a colourful stripe..Why is this happen...Newbie here
notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

do you see "USB" at the bottom of the tri-color screen when you connect your Touch to your PC? If yes then your Touch is still not bricked yet wink.gif

Just proceed with the flashing another time and you'll be all set. Oh ya, if possible try to remove your SIM card and memory card before you proceed with the flash.

Using SDHC need to install patch  nod.gif

HTC Touch has native support for SDHC. I'm using default firmware with a 4GB SDHC microSD without any problems
