it seems like AS5 rules but i wonder, how do we measure the quality and performance of the thermal paste? and is there any thermal paste that better than AS5?

QUOTE(kalakatu @ Jun 10 2007, 12:48 AM) it seems like AS5 rules but i wonder, how do we measure the quality and performance of the thermal paste? and is there any thermal paste that better than AS5? I think the better term is really subjective. Many people do look at review but obviously, you will really need to try it yourself to know whether its better or not. Better than AS5 wise, many reviews had shown TIM like Chill Factor and MX-1 is better. However, i have tested Chill Factor myself which is less or almost the same performance as compared with the AS5. Therefore, i guess you really need to test out to see whether or not they are better...

Yup, MX-1 is slightly better. Btw, i'm using the Thermal Paste which came with my Cooler Master Aero7 heatsink. Cheapo coolermaster thermal paste i'd say, but it's still not that bad.

AS5 user here. toothpaste really work. previuosly got review testing thermal paste and they include toothpaste... can perform as thermal paste but once cooled down, it dry up. cant be used anymore. for cooked rice grain, i really doubt it. minyak kapak is something new to me... @uncle ianho MX2? uncle selling it? interested in getting it as AS5 nearly finish and i think it's expired too lol
