the bem accreditation isnt that important unless u wanna work with government after graduation. i dont see any difficulties looking for a job in private sectors.

I am a graduate mechanical engineering student in UniMAP. I must admit the entertainment at Perlis is equal to none and the most hype place around Perlis is THE STORE supermarket!!!!! (can you believe it). Study in Perlis is great because you can really fully concentrate on your study!! The entertainment there in Kg Wai and any other hostel area is LAN game. Dota, CS any LAN game you name it, there got it!!!

I not regret studying there and I am from KL, so at the beginning you will not accustomed to the quietness of Perlis but after you have your own PC or laptop bring in to the hostel, it is gaming till you drop!! 24 hour non stop dotaing and 24 hour non stop got dota server!!!

Do not get addicted to Dota during your studies, although many people like dota there but the M people will become Phd and master in dota but attain primary school level on their studies. Many M people fail there because of dota. As for myself I only dota during my free time, you go there to study not to play.

what is M? I am lucky that i nvr like dota.

I sure want study until get good good result because can enter public university is very lucky!!! As for me my STPM result not good only get 2.52 and some more can enter public university and even get my favourite course, its like god had given me the second chance, I must excell in my studies!!! The thing you learn in UniMAP is the latest thing that is being use by the industry. Some software so new until the industry is not using yet you also can learn from UniMAP.

Friends, congratulation to you all who get courses in unimap.

I'm one of the students of unimap here, starting study on 6th july, same as bidfordun the difference is: I'm final year already!

I think some of you who are new intakes must be going for the orientation already within few days time, just don't worry, have fun and enjoy. Learn and remember the poco-poco and chicken dance steps! It's great fun!

If you worry about the campus, there's one new and big one under construction in Pauh, right opposite to Politeknik (I forget the name). Don't compare that campus to UUM, we lose big time. I heard some news saying that we are moving to that new campus next semester, not sure how authentic the news is. I'm from Biomedical Electronic, PPK Mechatronic though. One of the problem of the new campus should be the location which is considered 'in the middle of nowhere'.

For those who choose to leave afterwards, I won't stop you. For me, it's the same to study anywhere else in this world. The most important thing is the attitude and spirit to study. I got a friend studying in UM, he skipped classes to go to redbox and movies in MV, just abit nicer lah in his resume, 'UM' kononnya, but what's the difference anyway?

Regarding the journey thing, I'm from Kelantan, and I'm going to drive back to Perlis for 7-8 solid hours to get to Perlis. Not to mention some of my friends from Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. Imagine their pain.

If you worry about the chinese, I'm one of the chinese girls in unimap. The ugly one. Bidfordun is a chinese guy, although I never meet him face to face. There's 4 chinese girls in my class, and a lot more chinese girls studying in different courses, staying in different hostels. Don't worry lah, there's sure some places and people where you can speak mandarin, sometimes even hokkien, cantonese and hakka.

Just my two cents.

you won't run out of dota this is for sure ..
but after 3 am no more internet till 5 in the morning ...
but dota still playable ..

was suppose to attend classes at Inti Unicoll then Unimap accepted my appeal.
Got international business course.
parents asking me to go.
So will be registerring this Tuesday.
I'm not so much worried on whether or not there will be leng chai. or leng lui for that matter.
I'm really worried about who i'll be sharring my room with thats all..
but after reading the thread I "find" comfort..
Perhaps this place is not so bad after all. I'll Miss McD and Domino's though
maybe I should give it a chance. ...
Packing is a challenge. So heavy ! I'll try my best not to be a drama queen.
BTW, my mom bought me water boiler and iron? isit nessacery? anyone?help?
I hope it's not too late to ask..

since ur the 2nd intake, the place u move in should hav iron/heater ready, ur roomie should haf pick them up by now lulz
